Re: Die -cast cars

Got the Kal. Kustom Mach 1 Sunday at K-Mart. Was really hoping to find the Shelby from that series. Looks like HW has discontinued it, though. Only bad thing is the hood scoop and hood paint, same as the oil can series Boss 302 and some other releases. :borg:

Same place I got mine and no Shelby to be seen. Discontinued eh??? Hmmm.. :wtf:

Re: Die -cast cars

Yeah, apparently they were a 'Hobby Only' series and did not move well, so K-Mart (and probably Sears as well) got the rest of the production. I've seen the Shelbys on ebay, but it's looking more like the days of the $10 single cars is almost over. Target is doing well with collectors with their new Sizzler release and the new Flying Customs and Super Chrome series, but they are much more reasonably priced. :borg:

If you're searching out new stuff, I just picked up the Poker Series II '70 Mach 1, both in regular and a truly hideous White Lightning version (green flat wheels!). Also the newest Hot Wheels are now hitting the shelves, which include a '69 fastback, Cobra Daytona Coupe, and a red/white/blue '70 Mach 1. There's also a very hard to find variant of the '68 Boss Hoss in orange with the FTE wheels. Very cool! :borg:

Awesome. I guess I have more items to look for. I haven't seen any of the Hot Wheel ones yet but I will be watching. Where did you find the Poker series ones?

I've ordered the 2004 DSG Mach, 4 post lift, the garage figurines (not the car wash ones), and the two different sets of garage tools from this website. I don't think the 4 post lift is available anymore. I have no complaints about any of them. Unfortunatly, they are all in storage now except for the Mach 1 until I can buy my own house. I moved to an apartment and don't have the room for all my diecast now. Plus my wife and I have a baby on the way in about 2 months so I need to make some room. If I get time, I will get them out of storage, set them all up and take a picture and post it. I don't know when that will be. They are stored about 1 hour away from where I live.

The Poker series II cars were located at a Toy Liquidators (aka KB Toys) nearby, but I've seen them at Wal Marts in the area. The new Hot Wheels are just starting to get to the shelves. There is a Wal Mart only red card series that is only some of the regular '06 cars on a unique card, but the new blue card cars is where you'll find the new stuff. Also I managed to snag a (Target only) Sizzler Boss 302 as well. Been a good week for car hunting...:borg:

Can you get an 03 DSG in the 1:18 instead of the 04 in the link?

I don't think you can. All I found when I was looking was the '04. I don't think you will be able tell the difference on a diecast though. These cars are highly detailed and I would suggest getting one even though it is an '04.

The side emlems are the reason I was wanting an 03 version.

What if you found a "cheap" diecast with the emblem you want and then just switch emblems.

Here are pics of what I was talking about. Some of the items include, 2 cases of peach tree oil (with 6 individual bottles in each box, see lower left corner of first pic), 2 welders, air compressor, car and jack stands, tool box, battery charger and battery, creaper, engine hoist, floor jack, and Mr. bossman with his dog. Don't worry, the Mach on the lift is only getting an oil change, it's not broken down. So is the silver V6. LOL

Here's the first pic after it was reassembled. I need to do a little cleanup around the top of the windsheild, build a convertible boot to cover the rear speakers as well as re-add the stripes. Now I'll have a pretty close scale replica of my own car. :)

Cool model! Cool GT! Oh and I checked out your website too, nice rides!!

So MineralMan, do you have your GT Diecast completly done now. You said you had to do a little touch up by the windsheild and make a convertible boot for over the speakers?
