I was considering a day trip on Saturday but no go for me with the rain forcast. Guess I will stay home and start redressing the Mach for drag racing at the end of the month.

Well earlier today I was "bragging" to somebody about I've seen every kind of weather at Carlisle over the years but snow........well it may not quiet be "snow" but it did start to hail during out BBQ outing. From here on out, I ain't saying nothin'.

I drove up there today from So MD....3 hours up...hot as ba**s. Met Dave...quite a few Machs outside gate 1...didn't see many on the field...or maybe I didn't look hard enough.....just too dang hot. Drank like 3 gatorades and waters and never went to the john. Last time I went to Carlisle for all fords it was practically snowing....can we get a happy medium here?!?!?! Was nice to see the Mach's and mods people have done. It took me over 4 hours to get home....if I had taken my Mach would probably have fried the clutch on the 495 beltway. If you go, wear your sunscreen!!!

im at a red roof inn in s. harrisburg. it was the closest i could find (about 20 miles from carlisle). they still have rooms here....good luck

Oooo, almost forgot...go into the brick building right by all the Machs at gate 1...there is a 1970 ( i think) blue Mach 1 with a COMPLETE 03-04 Mach 1 interior with our 4.6 mod motor.....gotta appreciate the guts, time and skill it took to pull THAT off!

That car (a 1969 with 2004 interior and running gear) is pretty awesome.

I'm waiting for the comments on the 2002 Mach 1 convertible in that building! Makes one wonder how they choose the invitational cars....

It has the Mach 1000 stereo, so I suppose someone thought that qualifies it for a Mach 1.

Try closer to Harrisburg. There's enough Hotels that one of them has to have a room. You'd be about half an hour to 40 minutes from the Fairgounds. It's just straight up I81.

Joan, I had a long talk with the owner/builder of the "69/04" Mach 1. That guy did an unbelieveable job in building that car. He was also the original owner of "69Mach03's" (Mark's) 1969 428CJ car that is displayed in the same building and is on the cover of the Carlisle magazine and 2007 posters. I got him hooked up with Miles Cook who writes for Mustang Monthly magazine and Mustang and Ford magazine so there may be a feature of it in a couple of months.

What happened?? I went to Carlisle without reading this part of the thread so I thought you were going to be there. I had hoped to see all the mods and listen to that supercharger. What's goin on with that car of yours? Does it break often?

Never broke . I opted to do a bunch of mods and couldnt quite get it done in time .

Billet gears and timing chain and keyway , kooks lts custom x-pipe , 96-98 timing chain cover and a 3 bolt tensioner , because i broke sevaral tensioners on 30 psi . The biggest mod was the huge custom cams . Big cams made the clearance issue and had to have pistons adjusted . Just couldnt leave a good thing alone . Should have left it alone until after the show . But i thought i had plenty of time . I guess i was wrong .

Something about getting a 1000 RWHP that keeps me going .

Well, let's go. Get the thing done. Bunch of folks in suspense with this car and no one's seen it. We like all that mod stuff and close to 1k hp would be awesome. There is talk of another crab run in Sept or Oct. We well be saving a spot just for you. It might be back in Md again so when it's planned, don't do anything to the car.

Only thing that will be done to the car will be the cage . Set for an August install . Have to be complete for the shoot-out . Cecil is close for me and we love crabs .

We had 56 Mach's in the Mach Reunion area and 10-15 scattered on the show field. This is another First for the Registry. Keeps getting bigger every year.

Made it home around 2:30pm, Only ran into rain about 10 miles from the house, it looked really bad the whole way home and very humid and hazy. Just got everything unloaded......Another Sucessful Year!!!

Well we got home at about 2:30. We didn't get to the fair grounds till 10am because a local police officer stopped by the hotel, Looking For ME! No worries, he saw my Mach 1 and low and behold He bought a TR mach1 in Feb. so he just wanted to chat.....and chat.....and chat. He was a great guy and hopes to join us next year. Kim and I had a GREAT time, picked up a few parts, got some sunburn, drank several gallons of water, looked at a lot of very nice cars, and had a real fun time. Thanks Dave W. for everything you do for us!
By the way Dave I would like it to be known that I did NOT do a BURNOUT at the Mach1 Hotel this year. I didn't want to create any problems for everyone that stays there. :gears:
