Found a few of the AutoArt Mach 1's at Swapmeet Models in England and bought the last '03 OW they had. The price was very reasonable but shipping cost as much as the car (total came to about $85). I had it in about 2-1/2 weeks.

Not too bad of a price seeing how they have been going for $60 - $100 + just for the car without shipping.

I'm on the hunt for an 03 AB.

I'm also starting a collection of 03 literature....dealer spec sheets (waiting for one in the mail) and magazines that may have a writeup about the 03's when they came out.

I don't even know what our AB diecast is worth.

I don't know WHY the blue's got so expensive, they are not even a rare color. I figured the an 04 white would be worth more since I think it's the rarest color...

You just answered your own question, AZ blue was the most popular. That's why it's in high demand in diecast.

Re: Die -cast cars

I suppose, never though of that side of it. I was going strictly on "rareity" factor. Good point.

Here's an update to my recently purchased CSX 2601 Daytona Coupe. The new signature on the rear window is from Peter Brock, the designer of the Cobra Daytona Coupe. The other shot if of the diecast as well as the signed book he did of CSX 2601 for the Mecum auction which it was sold at.

Peter asked me to keep an eye on our 'special' friend. I think he was talking about 'special' like 'special ed'. I think I understand your love for the yellow Mach...it kind of reminds you of that short bus you 'got' to ride in the early years.:claus:

Seriously, I was supposed to get to meet him later this month but he wasn't able to work it into his schedule, sadly. He's a great talent with a lot of history people don't seem to know about.
