Yes, 10 pt cage will be going in soon. Eliminating certain under dash components, wiring. Will be ordering a Florida 5.0 insturment panel. The MSD digital 7 ignition will be mounted where the passanger air bag was.

Ya, I decided I'd better go ahead with a 10 pt cage.. Then all the stuff not needed under the dash, can be pulled too... There is no dang end:anger:

LOL, I missed this one! The dash/steering wheel is not going back in. I'm planning on using left/right hand rope, on a pulley system to control the manual rack & pinion.

Ditch the braking components too...cut a hole in the floor board and buy some hard soled boots...you'll thank me later for reducing all that rotating mass, plus you can run some super wide tires out back and super tiny wheels up front....

You're welcome, in advance.

Received the Kooks stainless custom headers last week. These are step headers that start at 1.625" primaries and open up to 1.75" primaries into 3" straight thru collectors.

The exhaust ports have been rough ported.. I plan on port matching the exhaust ports to my ported heads/exh gasket.

Be sure not to use the gaskets that came with them. Use stock ford gaskets.

Thanks for the deal/sales Col on the Kooks!!!

I was comparing the Percy gaskets vs the Ford factory imbossed steel gaskets and the Fords match the head exhaust ports better, even after a port job on the heads.. The quality/strength of the Ford steel imbossed exh. gasket is hands down the winner...

Hey craig!! Thanks!!

Yes, it's at CRT Performance for the winter on the final stage of this build. Once the 6pt roll bar is converted to a 10 pt cage, then everything will come together. Jeff is getting all plumbing & wiring finished now. The manual brake system/line lock install is complete. The interior is gutted, including the dash/steering column removed. The factory computor/wiring is gone also.

Just got back from CRT Performance and took several pics of the detailed progress.

Entire manual brake system with wilwood proportioning valve finished, excellent job done by Chris who works at CRT Performance. Line lock hidden behind inner wheel well with a pressure switch for brake lights. Lines are routed to be pretty much hidden in engine bay. All black enamel coated brake lines used. Brake pedal leverage modified for strange manual master cylinder. Rear fuel pump/filter raised for additional ground clearance while still being able to see these with rear bumper installed. The tank deep sump has been painted black (not installed) and Jeff wired the tank for fuel level using factory float/sending unit. So, when I'm around "E" the deep sump is still full.

Nitrous stand alone fuel tank polished and plumbed with holley pump/regulator/filter with custom aluminum tank mount that I machined.

The factory electrical junction/fuse box mounted behind, inner wheel well.. Florida 5.0 custom speedometer/tach, fuel gauge, battery voltage instrument gauge panel. This is taking the place of the factory dash instrumentaion panel.. Jeff has made a custom wiring harness for window heater defrosters front/back, power windows, power door locks, turn signals, headlights, park lights, brake lights, reverse lights, trunk opener, motor fuel pump, nitrous fuel pump and so on..

A lot of time is going into completely removing entire factory wire harness & computer and starting from scratch to re-wire..

I took a pic of about 18 lbs of wire, harnesses that has been removed. Soon, the 10 pt cage is next.

CHE shock tower adjustable strut brace installed.

More pics: Scott Rod filler panels and 18 lbs of factory wire/harnesses removed. Decided not to go the welded engine bay route.. Some more aluminum filler panels will be added as time goes on.

Pic of left front brake line.

Pics of the modified MMR distributor drive setup I machined using a .060" offset bushing (Jeff's idea) to dial in the alignment of socket to exhaust cam bolt. Next I will be machining a custom hold down clamp for distributor.

Really nice work, Phil. Amazing how much weight u pulled just removing the wiring! I'm going to have to check out your ride next season. I'll be keeping my eye on your build and hopefully see u at the track in the spring.

I'm a little over an hour. Usually go up to 42 raceway. But if the rumor is finally true, we will have a dragstrip here in Mansfield by next year. Been waiting a LONG time it seems. I'm gonna be a track whore if/when they ever do finish it. :smokin: But i've heard good things about Norwalk and will get up there eventually!
