No track. I'd go 4.10 then.

Depends on where your limiter is set.

Do like I do, talk about it and never do it lol. I still can't pull the trigger on my 4.56s I have at my house.

You have them in your house and you haven't put them in!?
Send them here, I'll put them in mine and tell you whether to put them in or not.
My answer will be no, and now that you don't want them you'll sell to me for cheap!:surprise:

hmmmmmm. Tempting, but i'm sure I'll end up putting then in, worse case I use a taller tire.

You might get better MPG on the highway with the 4.56. But, if you have loud exhaust look out. I have 4.30s and find that cruising around 2600 rpms mpg is in the 24-25 with 245/45/17 tires.

What MPH is 2600 RPM in 5th?

At 2,000 I'm at 50mph I think. 2,500 and I think I'm at 65.

^ I guess that's not really that bad. My buddy in his 06 Auto GT runs close to 3k with 4.10's. It doesn't bother you? Is first gear even useable?

Re: 4.30's or 4.10

Yes, first gear is fine. You can make it through a intersection after a stop light without shifting. Gas mileage won't change much, but you won't be able to keep your foot off of it. I gas up the same amount as I did with 3.55's.

Put it this way. The second you put your 4.56s in and go for an easy drive your first thought will be "this isn't that bad..." and once you give it gas you will be ear to ear grin.

Now if I had a T5 or T45 5th gear ratio, hell no I wouldn't DD 4.56 gears!

If you do not drive around on drag radials then these gears are not for you

You sure you have 4.56s? I'm in 3rd gear by the time I'm through an intersection. I'm in 5th gear by 35mph.

With my 4.56s over the 4.10s I find myself stopping in the middle of the road often, spinning the tires over, then staging and launching from a stop just to see if I can hook up decent. You can recover from a bog a lot faster but you launch too high and you will haze your tires and it will feel like you aren't moving. I find my best launch has been 1500rpms clutch slip or a 2000rpms clutch dump. Oh God the feel you get in 1st and 2nd gear! The car just never stops pulling. WNTAMACH1 I'll get you a video this weekend of 1st through 3rd.

3650 trans
4.30s
25.7" tires
70 mph = approx. 2440 rpms
75 mph = approx. 2614 rpms depending on the calculator used.

Texas just upped the speed limit to 80 on open roads and 70-75 through most towns so I will get to test the MPG theory pretty soon.
