0% financing.....?

There is a new screaming yellow Mach here at Phillip's Ford in Carthage. I stopped by and looked at it and it has 0% for 60 months on the windshield. When did they do that or is it a mistake on the Mach? By the way, it is an auto if anyone is interested.

Not a mistake. Same time they offered 4K on 03's and 3k on 04's. I took 0.0% financing in lieu of rebate on my 04 when I bought it a little over a week ago.

We took the 0% for 72 months. I figured I would rather have a lower monthly payment. Not paying any interest so there is no worry of additional costs on the back end.

Do they only do 0% on certain times of the year? I bought mine with 0% in october. :confused:

Not really certain times of the years. But the current promotion of 0% or the Cash Back expires Jan 6th. It could be continued, or changed after that. Its at Ford's whim.

also keep in mind on 0%, that depending on how much you finance 0% is not always the best way to go...i.e. if your financing $20,000 and your credit(beacon) score is high enough your better off taking the $3,000 rebate than the 0% since you'll not pay back that much in finance charges...also 0% only really helps you if you carry the note for the full term(60 or 72 mo's) if you trade after 2 or 3 years you'll be better off getting a good interest rate and taking the rebate because your principle initially will be $3,000 less and after 2 or 3 years you'll be less "upside" down.....
for instance i took the rebate and got 2.9% for 60 mo's i will only pay back approx $1500-1600 in finance charges over the life of the loan where the rebate was $3,000(saved 1500) total...

something to think about(i do finance at my local dealership). please do not think all dealerships as crooks or loading the back end with hidden costs...
