the most beneficial exhaust mod is to get rid of the cats. but then you have to put them back to pass smog in 5 years.
headers are the hardest(most time cosuming) and most expensive thing you can do. if you must have them i would get them out of the way.
mufflers/cat back are the easiest and cheapest mod one can do. bang for the buck its the best. i currently have the 2 chamber and they sound really good but would like to get flowmaster new super 40 mufflers which give you more horsepower than their old 40 series.

good luck

Less is more. Do the Flowmasters. $225 max installed, and your done. They sound awesome @ 3000 rpm, and idle beautifully.

Are these super 40 mufflers a new line? I've got delta flow 40 series on my '89 and wondering if flowmaster had a new line out.

It is best to start with the Catback, work your way to the Cats and H Pipe and of course headers. Your restriction comes more at the mufflers and pipes.

they started selling the new super 40 mufflers 12-1-03. brand new muffler in a bigger 5x10 shell. lower back presssure and more power.
they also have a new crossover pipe like a x pipe called the scavenger. that thing is sweet.

flowmastermufflers.com

go to super 40 sound byte and then hit applications at the bottom of the page.
it will give you all the numbers.
