I need a 12v power source in the trunk for my nitrous bottle heater. Preferably a power source that has power when the key is not in the ignition as well. Any ideas?

Run a new line from the battery with a fuse to the truck.

I was trying to avoid doing that. I guess that's the only option though.

I tried the cigarette lighter as a source and it wouldn't power the heater, so doubtful the trunk light would either. Guess I'll have to run a new wire.

Cig Lighter, trunk light....you guys know that Power = volts x amps right? I doubt those two sources have the amperage necessary to run a bottle heater...
As others have said, run it from your battery...when in doubt you can read amps (remember to do it in series) if you have an Amp-meter or a multimeter capable of reading over 50A. As a point of reference, my multimeter is only rated to 10A...I usually borrow one to read amps on vehicles.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:
so the bottle heater would draw to many amps from the fuel pump.

what about the fuel harness
that would defeat the purpose of mustangs needing to do the fuel pump wiring upgrade
