nice
i've been wanting to go to this show for a while; looks like May is the next one now.

wholly cow, went to a reloading shop this weekend and 12 gauge shot is now $50 a bag!!! called around several places and it seems people are hording ammo lately too.

what's a good recommendation for a 9mm?
(i like the Beretta, Sig and Glock)

Beretta: I have a 9mm 92FS. I like it a lot but after a while I wanted something with more power.
Sig: I have a .45. Love it. Hands down my favorite gun.
Glock: I have a .357 sig. Its a 'baby glock' that is my carry piece. I have shot 9mm glocks & did not care for them.

I would suggest going to the DFW gun range on Mockingbird & 35. They have tons of guns that you can rent for $7 an hour. That way you can really try before you buy.

better try and see if you can find any ammo for it. ammo is in short supply.

thanks for the suggestion. I've been shopping for one a few times and don't know why anyone behind the counter has not said anything about that.

How much did the lower go for? Since the election there have been significant "free enterprise" price increases and short supply.

That is very nice. I wanted to get one last year but didn't have the $$$. Now all I hear is that supply is really low and prices are up. People are afraid that they won't be able to buy such items soon and I'd say that is a vaild concern. There are people out there in our government who do not understand the meaning of ".....shall not be infringed".

I hope you got it cheaper than what they were asking for the ones at gun shows around here. I couldn't believe some of the prices on the AR's. I've got a Del-Ton and a Model 1 sales that I bought/built last year and paid about half of what they were going for at the show here in midland a couple of weeks ago.

The kit is from Model 1 Sales & was $490. So $490 + 120 = 610. Thats a price that I can live with.

30 round mags were $15. So I got a couple of those.

Yup. Model 1 sales had a bunch of kits at the show. However a buddy of mine ordered one from their site 8 weeks ago & its still on back order.

My brother has a 45 from them & really likes it. Every now & than I look at the carry pieces that they make, but I'm please with my Glock 33. However - I might make an exception for that new Ruger LCP.

I got about 10 30 round mags in my storage in one of the box's... Came home from the army with them.

There is a place up by Plano (bullet trap?) that rents them as well. I've never been there.

Been to the DFW range & another in Fort Worth (820 & Lancaster) & rented from both places before. I think that is the only way to go. It would suck to drop $$$ ona gun & not like it.

Thats a really good price right now, cheapest AR I saw at the Midland show was $1200. The only local gun shop around here with stripped lowers is trying to get $180, I bought one from them Aug. of last year for $124 and then had to wait 3 months for my Del-Ton upper to go on it. Sounds like I should have driven to Fort Worth for the show and made a few more investments.
