Dave,

An error in the HISTORY selection of mach1registry.com has recently become aware to me. The sources most likely come from Ford... Not sure if you can edit the information, but in the fifth paragraph reads:

Underneath, the 1969 Mach 1 offered a 250-horsepower 351 Cleveland V-8 or a 335-hp 428 Cobra-Jet mill.

Corrections:

Standard engine was the new 351 c.i. V-8. This engine was basically an enlarged 302 and is known as the 351 Windsor, as it was made in Ford's Windsor plant. With the two-barrel carburetor and single exhaust, the base Mach 1 engine was rated at 250hp. The old 390 c.i. V-8 was optional, rated at 320hp, with the top engine option being the torquey 428CJ, rated at 335hp . The most powerful 428CJ came with the "Shaker" hood scoop- attached to the engine, it "shook" as the engine idled. The Shaker was optional on the both 351s and 390 V-8. A lot of engines to choose from, to be sure.

Cubic Inch Options included: 351 Windsor, 390, and 428CJ

Just trying to prevent misleading information!

The 351W-2V was 250hp. Next up the 351W-4V @290hp. The 390 4V was rated @ 320hp and is often overlooked. The 428CJ was (under)rated at 335hp, but the most powerful was the 428SCJ, with external oil cooler, screw in frreze plug, and 'digger' rear end gears with a Detroit Locker rear axle. Also rated @ 335hp, but you can't believe everything that you read.

Some things never change. Hey, if this were the avg., boring car no one would care. At least this is some indication of how exciting a car can be, and how enthused the right people can get about the right car. This is fun...right?
