It looks like the Ram is getting some new stuff for 2009. Most importantly the Hemi will be up to 380hp 404tq. Ford needs to start doing something in the power department even the 4.7 is up 310hp. Mean while fords top V8 (Truck) is putting out an overrated 300hp.

Im still wondering why Dodge hasnt put the 6.1 into their trucks? A cam change and that would be one torquey engine. A perfect size for a truck.

Pretty sharp lookin. I think they are copying Ford's interior though. I wonder on that 4% gas increase. Is that gonna put it over 20 mpg? I heard all new vehicles had to be over 20 but not sure if it's a credile source....

True that and it would be nice competition for GM’s 6.2 trucks. Also I' wonder if the 380hp 5.7 will transfer over to Chryslers cars. That would be a smooth move to leapfrog Pontiac’s new G8 (361hp 385tq) by 19hp and 19tq especially if that power increase came with improved fuel economy, which is already decent in those cars considering they weigh north of 2 tons and pack a good punch.

They can put all the power they want into their trucks. Fact is Ford trucks are better. Last longer and they have higher resale values. Ever heard the saying a cummins will run forever but the truck will fall apart around it? Dodge has really lost focus on what a truck is suppost to be. I mean who the heck offers a 4x4 truck with street performance tires and 20" wheels?

Let’s just be happy that Dodge actually put a trans in their trucks that can last more than 30,000 miles.

I just want to know what the 09 5.4 is going to put out. Hopefully it'll be more than 320 hp. Either way the 09s are getting the 6-speed autos would should make the trucks way quicker than they are now.

The Boss 6.2 (or whatever they are calling it) should be here in 2009.5 or 2010, it's going to send the Hemi and Vortec engineers back to the drawing board I do believe.

I know its fun thinking about these large CI engines, but in reality, with the price of fuel steadily climbing I dont know how well they are going to sell. I hope Im wrong, but I think the end of the current performance rage is near.

Did you know ford owns Cummins, but because Cummins was already under contract with Dodge Ford could not use it in the Ford trucks.

the interior does look very close to Ford.

I like the storage in the bed, back when I had my Sierra Denali I'd have like a feature like that.

Ford used to own a good bit of Cummins stock in the 90s IIRC, but they sold it off a long time ago.

Oh, well I just heard about it from a diehard Dodge fan and a Ford hater and thought that he would know.
Sorry guys for the bad info.
