That's a lot of mods for the times. Which is weird because the 60' isn't horrible, but the mph is low. When are you shifting?

I have no track experience, but from all the reading and stuff I do on the boards and mags those numbers sound good for first time but I'd imagine with all those mods you could dip into the 12's without a sweat.

Nice ride BTW

Edit, actually I wouldnt be suprised if that Mach has very low 12's in it.

sup dude, we had a good run tonight. the second one sucked because the pro tree. to answer shacklefords question, nobody was runnin worth a darn tonight, way too humid. here are my runs:

60 ft. 1/8 1/4 mph
2.1 8.7 13.4 at 104.5
2.25 8.9 13.6 at 105.6
2.19 8.82 13.50 at 104.53
2.38 9.0 13.7 at 105 they used a pro tree set up on us on this run and i bout stalled out, so it bogged hard then spun bad, wasnt expecting the lights to come down that fast on the tree. my car dyno'd at 311 rwhp and 337 rwtq at fastlane motorsports. mods are midlenghts, o/r x, stingers, jlt cai, sct xcal 2, and 4.10s, my runs were all done on 245 street tires, im waiting for my 315's to come in. track sucked and was about 100 degrees and humid as hell

racing at the track is a lot harder then it looks, not to mention unless they have vids of their times they could be bs'ing, this is the internet. at our track noone runs what they should, full bolt-on ls1's are having a hard time dipping in the 12's, my buddy has a 02 ss with 355 rwhp and runs 13.1's consistent

Is the track there hard or you mean at the track in general? I've never raced on the track but I've been many many many times.

Whats corrected #s for that track if any?

the track here blows, but from my experience at different tracks is, that you never run what you should. i always run cars better on the street. at the track they have a win light which shows who crosses the line first. on my first run against him, i got the win light but he ran a better time. plus racing in front of all the people makes you somewhat nervous, nobdy wants to miss a gear or something in front of a crowd. the thing aobut the track i like is that its addicting, tonight was the 2nd time ive raced this car at the track and i plan on goin back every test and tune night.

60' times could come down a bit though. If you got closer to 2 or below 2, there would be a big diff in the time and Mph.

I think your times are good, but a better launch would definitely see improvement.

For your first time out that's not bad at all. You'll need to work on your reaction times, but there again, not terrible for your first time. I've seen much worse by some people who race more often at the track. With the 5 sp you probably could get your 60ft's just right around the 2.0 mark with street tires. If you actually do start any bracket racing, you'll get better with consistency. It's addicting, so now that you've been once, you'll be going again for sure. 12 years ago I went for the first time back in Minnesota at a track just east of Moorhead and I was hooked. I took my '04 Mach that I just purchased a few months ago out a few weekends ago and went bracket racing. I was doing good until the second round when I red lit. Really ticked me off too because my opponent was so far off his dial it would have been an easy win. My car is an auto in stock form and was running 14.63-14.66 on 4 passes. My runs only varied by a few hundredths of a second which in bracket racing is what wins along with your reaction times. I run right on the line with my reaction times too which is why I red light every now and then. My worst was .057 except for my red light which was -.997. Otherwise my other two lights were .003 and .009. I thought I was going to get the reaction award the first round since I won and my reaction was .003, but the last person had a .001 reaction. I'm sure my times for my car look slow, but the track isn't the fastest and with the elevation and extreme heat over 100 degrees, it's hard to run fast out there. Corrected times will lower it around a half second when you factor in the density altitude and all that. My '00 GT in stock form ran a best in the 14.90's, but in the heat of the summer ran in the 15.10's so the mach is a half second faster and with 40-50 more hp, that's about right. The 60 ft's on my Mach were slow but since I was bracket racing I wanted to keep everything the same each run since I was out there to compete and win. I'll probably head out on a test/tune night so I can play around with variables during each run and not have to worry about consistency. Take your car out again and have some fun. Work on shifting at the same time every time and in the same form because consistency is the key. That's why you don't see very many people who are really into racing in the pro classes running sticks because they rarely go to the final rounds because it's hard to be consistent. There isn't a single manual transmission in the super pro category out here and when I raced in the pro category with my 70 Mach 1 there were only a couple guys with sticks. But racing is still fun and with some practice you can get fairly consistent with a manual transmission too. Practice, practice, practice. And remember to have fun out there. You meet a lot of great people at the track and there is a wealth of information to learn from others.

Yeah, I'm gonna try to extend the date that I have to ship my car from tues to thurs., just so I can take it to the track one more time. I have orders to go to Germany, so thats why I'll be shipping the mach. I know there is a track that alot of military guys go to (in Germany), but from what I've read its not prep/maintained too good. What is the norm. for lowering street tires psi? I had mine at 25psi, and I'll try to be more consitent with the rpms and shifting. Thanks!

I really think it depends on the tire. Test several different psi's from 18 all the way up to normal psi. Some seem to grip better at low psi's and then others don't seem to have any problems gripping at all when they are full. I think a lot of it has to do with the stiffness of the side walls and how sticky the tires are to begin with. Going to far underinflated is just as bad as too much over inflated because then you start losing grip on the center of the tire. Play around and see what works best for you. I had mine at 22psi and didn't have any slipping problems at all with my auto car. I have Pilot Sports on my car.
