Sorry if I've missed any latest threads but it seems that they are finally beginning to hold around 17-20K. I know the retail is higher but these numbers do seem higher then they were last year. Is this true?

I think the private sale prices of them has dropped a couple thousand. More and more in the $18K-$19K range.

I guess the limited number of Mach 1s doesnt count for much. I really thought they would hold value well.

I think its more to location
in the north east

you will get a few k more for a stang in the summer than winter

also right now in albany there are about 15 machs within 100 miles up here they are scarce in fact i only average seeing 1 or 2 a year other than my own just out driving around........................

So in my area I think machs would get more money just due to the fact they dont come up for sale often and there are folks looking for them

(I have turned down 2 this summer folks who asked if i was interested in selling the car)

In my opinion, it is still too early for the depreciation curve to drop off. I believe the values will be different at the 10-year mark, when more people have dimmed memories of this car. After they "re-discover it" and the search becomes more difficult, then the asking prices might be more than what we are seeing today.

Also, the S197 Mustang has an impact on the SN-95 values.

I went to Myrtle beach last weekend and stayed there for 3 days. I really thought I would see a Mach or Cobra up there. All I saw was a bunch of v6 and GTs 75% of them verts lol.

Tell you what though, I've never seen so many vettes in my life. Not on the road though, every last vette I saw at the beach was on used car lots lol. I think I saw many 50 or so.

Well, I am an optimist and I believe they are going up from this year on. You can all thank me later by buying my new video with Jamison, Tai, and the others

By the time the Mach's gain any value (IF ever) 90% of the people on this site won't even own them anymore. You'll be just like all the people that talk about 60's muscle: "I use to own one of those".

Once this car is paid off I'm retiring it and moving on to a Cobra or Vette. So in the long run I'll always have this Mach if I have enough garage space for it lol.

Thunderbolt is correct, example, In 1985 I bought a 69 Mach1 351 car for 800 dollars, By the year 2000 to 2004 that same car was worth 10,000 grand , so it took the original mach over 20 years or more to really be worth somthing

Yeah it's hard to say if these cars will ever be worth anything. I don't plan on selling mine personally because I don't know what I would get to replace it. It has every creature comfort that I want and great handling and driveability. In 1993 I purchased a 70 Mach 1 351 car also for $800 and in 1996 purchased a 69 Mach 1 R code car for $2500 (in 20k pieces). I wish the 69 would have never been pulled apart, but I couldn't pass it up for that price either even at that time. Personally I don't see any of these newer cars ever being worth more than they were new but I could be wrong. I'll be an old man with one foot in the grave though before they are worth more than new most likely. :)

No way man. I think there is a big difference in ours, as they are in a totally different era. There were so many muscle cars in the 60's and 70's. I don't know of many classic muscle cars with limited edition models these days or for the last 17 years for that matter. I am probably wrong but usually right

Oh I am not saying I would ever sell it. BUT, if I am ever in a financial disaster, then perhaps it would bring in a good payday :blah:

Cool, I hope to be alive in 2024 but it does not seem likely based on my living habits

Since you are feeling this sense of your own mortality, you should start writing your will. Leave the Mach to Angela. I'll take very good care of it for you!:teeth:
