Anyone ever painted stock wheels?

I was thinking about painting my stock wheels black, and leaving the lip around the wheel the way it is, then look for a wheel coating. Just wondering if anyone has tried this or have any pictures, or if it can even be done and look good. Thanks, sorry if this is a stupid question.

I know one guy who did it for sure. Can't go back far enough to find the thread though. It was pretty recent. It actually looked suprisingly good. Just need good prep.
