Got my issue in the mail today . Super runs  . Question for you...how'd you get a "stripeless" Mach1? Mine is also black and you can't hardly see the strips. I like the stealthy look. I'd like to pull the side emblems and horse in the grill to complete the look but they say there are holes in the fendors behind the emblems :( . Congrats again on the great showing and Mach 1 coverage.

Got mine yesterday. Very cool. I am interested in what the definition of " a few other goodies" is. You guys wouldn't mind sharing some trade secrets, would ya?

Are you guys planning on coming out to Phoenix in November for FFW? I would love to see you guys run out here. Nice weather, no snow, golf, what more can you ask for? Come on out!

Also FYI in same issue on page 120 is a picture of April and her Red Mach taken during the 2003 Hot Rod power tour.

How about blacking them out in a satin finish? That could look really cool. . .

What wheels are you using for your slicks and skinnies?
Did you have to modify anything to get them to work?
DId you have to use any spacers?
etc...

So what was the problem with the Bassani Mid lengths mentioned in the article?

JTCOBRA

when you start winning they always find a way to

slow you back down . they did rule them as legal
and allowed us to run in WFC6 but were deemed
illegal according to FS rules in NMRA i have since
changed them for the whiners in NMRA but i
admit i was trying to stretch the rules a tad not
trying to out right cheat they are in full view.

trust me if i wasnt winning it wouldnt have been
a big deal. but since i ran 12.0s down there and
qualified first it was an issue .

thanks for the comments you guys are great

Cya JEFF

oh....I have never raced before but WAS going to do it in the street class just for fun strating next Sunday. I just bought Bassani Mid length's...so I guess now I can't race?! What in the he!! is wrong with bassani mid length's? Don't people use NOS, turbos, super chargers, etc to race with? Hard to understand being a new guy in the world of 1/4 miles! Thanks, Rick

Codymach...

If you are going to run in bracket classes, then don't worry about the mods. Generally the only thing that separates the bracket classes (at least in div 4) is street tire vs. slicks, and electronics vs no electronics.

Of course people who use a delay box in my opinion are whimps anyway...Drive a stick car consistent with nothing more than a line lock, and then you can call yourself a driver...

Otherwise, if you are going to race in certain classes under a given sanctioning body, make sure you have a copy of their rule book. I would also advise that if you are thinking of running in different events with different sanctioning bodies that you get both rule books and see what you can use that will pass both...

JMHO...

Thanks much I was worried for a minute there....I just wanted to see what I can do. Running a 1/4 mile is just a challenge to em as I have never done it before and I would like to see how fast I can get the Mach and KEEP it driveable.

It was an issue because someone said something. It wouldn't matter if you ran in the middle of the pack (talking NMRA) - those headers were not legal for the class.

Glad you'll be at BG. Will NMRA let your run both FS and the Mach 1 shootout?

i hope they let me run f/s and then just the shootout on saturday, i am waiting for an answer now.

Just to satisfy my curiousity why were "those" headers not legal fo rthat class?

JTCOBRA
08-24-2003, 09:19 PM
at WFC they were deemed legal and in texas we asked for a ruling before we raced NMRA ( rules slight different) sorry
so short Cody but fought about this issue for months but
they denied them requiring us to change them to race

THEY REQUIRE AN AFTERMARKET SHORTY HEADER
and they must connect at factory header connection

i told them to show me my factory header connection
ahhh but machs( modulars come w/manifolds)

i lost by their interpetation

they do make HP over the shorties( 3" shorter) but must
play by rules

thanks jeff:D
