I wish it was in 1:1 rather than 1:18 scale...nice details, but the steering wheel does not turn the front wheels. The front cover does not come up either - bummer.

The interior and engine detail is nice...

It's hard not to feel good about such a great buy! The detail for this price point is spectacular. I got the Yellow/Black car and am havign a very difficult time not buying the other three color combos, especially after seeing the red, white, and blue (not available as a die-cast yet) real ones at the Ford 100, The latest issue of Toy and Model Car gave it rave reviews and I agree with them completely. The only thing I'm waiting out for is the Exoto version scheduled for later this year at about $90. If it's anywhere close to their other offerings it'll be hard to tell it from the real thing.

Where can the rest of us get one?

Sorry, it's a secret...:D

Mine came from Exoticar Model Co. (www.exoticar.com). They were also available at the Ford 100 event and are available through the merchandise link @ www.ford.com. Most online and mail order die cast dealers should have one as should any better local hobby store, and they are all over ebay, as well. We have a local shop (Andys Hobby Towne)that just got in the white/blue ones.

They are 1:18 scale and done by the Beanstalk Group, just so you know you're gettign the right thing.

I bought mine at HobbyTown USA for $29.99. They had the red, yellow, and "Gulf-colored" cars. It would be neat to have a matched set. It is indeed from the Beanstalk Group.

I received a flyer fron the Danbury Mint for a GT40 in 1:18 scale die cast...the price is pretty high ($169) but the detail looks fabulous.

Anyone else get this flyer?

I haven't seen anything from them, but I do know Kyosho is doind a lot of their cars now (including the Bond cars offered by them, not the wonderful Beanstalk cars), it's probably the same car just being offered through Danbury. With the quality of their work, it'll be worth it. If it's the 'classic' '66 GT40, I'm sure it's the same car. There is also a 1:10 scale GT40 out that is massive and detailed beyond belief...it's also priced around $600! A little rich for my blood.

Hotwheels? I hadn't heard about them doing a GT. New car or old car? The ones Tony and I have are by the Beanstalk Group. Can you post pics?

For those that are really interested in the real car...and have buckets of cash to throw around, the first Ford GT for public purchase was sold at the Christies Aution at Pebble Beach for a mere $557,500. Not too bad for a $150,000 car!? (This, according to the new issue Autoweek.)

Has anyone run across the 1/43 Minichamps version in yellow. I've seen it available in white, but most of my GT stuff is the yellow/black car and I'd like to keep it consistant. (Other than paying through the nose for the complete 100th Anniversary 1/43 set...no thanks.)
