I drive my car by the book i never leave strips or chirp the tire and still my tires are just warn out at 28k miles. I would think I should have got alot longer out of them. what are people getting for miles out of them?

Mine didnt even last 15K. They are a prettty soft compound so 25-30K is pushing um IMHO

PS Where is the fun in owning this kinda car if you dont "Drive i" on ocassion??
Just wondering

I drive mine pretty conservatively also. Mine has about 27000 and pretty much shot. Which takes a bit getting used to for me. My Toyota Tacoma 4wd had about 75000 on them when I finally bought new ones.

my mach had 19k miles when i bought it... it had the stock tires and there was 25% tread left, after 3k more miles I had worn them down to the belts so I replaced em with Nitto 555's up front and 555R's out back

I bought the car w/ 13,000 miles on it, and after a few visits to the track with the stock goodyear's and some spirited driving....they lasted about 3,000 miles with my use. :yeh:

ok i guess im not alone.

a kid near me has an 04 with 13k miles. hes on his 2nd rear end 3rd set of tires and 2nd clutch and 6 traffic viloation in the same 6 months of owning the car. a cop watched him light up the tires, smacking into a curb which in return snapped off the rear tire thus the rear end replacement. not only was he out his car for 3 weeks plus repair costs he got a nice heafty fine. he probably wouldnt have got the ticket but he lied to the cop about what happened when the cop was sitting right there watching.

My tires lasted 12,000 miles and I thought that was realy good but the goodyears were way to hard after about 3 burnouts they had 0 traction. I bought BFG's They work much better but will only last about 5,000 miles.

Any sport car will run a softer compound than a "family" passenger vehicle for performance purposes. If you get over 20k mis. on your tires you're really babying your car. Plan on buying tires every 1-2 yrs.

This is like comparing apples to oranges. The Toyota tires are a much harder comound than ours

The soft compound gives out in the 20 to 35K mark with "normal" driving. Just cornering eats it off. Did you rotate them front to back a couple of times? That will help prolong the inevitable.
I've got a nail sticking out of my passenger's side rear tire at the moment, so this weekend it's coming off for a patch job. I knew there had to be a pointy reason I only had 18 lbs of pressure in that one. Grrrr.

Well mine are pretty close to what they were rated at. They are dead but it will take 6-8 weeks to get my BFG G-force Sports, so I will get a few more miles on the stockers... They still have a little life left but the Mach is getting to be a handfull.. Just have to watch how I drive her...

Anywhere from 5 miles to 50,000 miles depending on how you drive.
