First washing

I got my Mach 1 recently and it's about time for her first washing. I was wondering, is there anywhere on the internet that details step by step what I should use, where, and how? With the different colored and types of paint, I'm unsure about exactly what to do in some sections. I'm trying to find a site that goes into great detail because this is my first Mustang, and I have heard some horror stories that I wish to avoid myself. Someone actually suggested that I bring her to a car wash. Yeah right.

Hey Mach1-7
I use Meguires gold class car wash in warm, NOT HOT! water applied to your hosed down mach with a good wash mitt. try to avoid washing in the direct sunlight and do not let the wash solution dry on your car use plenty of water. Work from the top down a section at a time.
To dry my mach I use the "Water Sprite" chammos that I have wet with the hose. again a section at a time top to bottom.
I do not use the wash mitt on the wheels but a clean white terry towel. There are good wheel detailers avalable too.
I also use meguires liquid cleaner wax applied to your clean COOL car. do this in the garage or shade. Never apply wax to surfaces that are warm! I avoid a heavy hose stream on my mach in favor of more gentle flow. I also carry some water in the trunk with bounty towels for the emergencys like bird droppings.
Megiuirs quick detailer is good for this too. Follow all label directions and good luck. I also machine wash my wash mitt by it self with NO DETERGENT after each wash, I let it air dry.
