I received my Zaino and Big grey waffleweave microfibers today. I was planning on using "the Absorber" to dry the car after washing and the microfibers to remove Zaino and polish the finish. Does anyone think using the microfiber waffleweaves this way is a problem? I don't want to ruin the towels or the paint!
Also, which is a better lubricant to use with Zaino claybar, soapy water or detailing wax?

Soapy water worked for me, but if you have never used a clay bar before, BE CAREFUL! Take your time and make sure there are no big particles between the clay and the paint surface. I promise you that if you do not use it correctly you will scratch your car, and they wont be small. ;)

I used meguires quick detailer or final inspection with the clay bar.
Take your time. I always make sure I am feeling the surface of the paint with my hand before during and after the clay bar application. I am looking for any grit. I will always work the panel with the detailer first and make sure it is as clean as possible (even after washing) and then I come back with the clay bar.
This has served me well on all the cars I detail.

Same company that sells the big grey towels sells little blue ones just for "polishing" I use those to wax. works wonders! I have a whole collection of microfiber towels. I have one just for wheel wells, one for tires, 4 for soaping, 1 for bug scrubbing, one for window drying, and 2 grey waffle weave for drying, and 2 for waxing. One to put it on one to take it off. Different sizes and different colors helps. I wash them in the clothes washer immediately after the car is finished, using some cheapo gallon size car wash liquid.

When using the clay bar, do you pass over a specific area once or until you feel that the area is smooth and clean? Thanks...

I am getting leary of using it at all. I can detect no problem with the finish and have zero scratches in my finish at present. In fact with 750 miles on the odometer I have yet to wash the car since it came home. Just a good polishing and spray detailer. The finish is immaculate. I am waiting until it needs a good cleaning just to strip the polish and apply zaino. The idea of rubbing claybar on the finish is downrighr scary.

And this is why I have been hesitating. I've prepared and waxed the car already using Zaino products (very pleased with the outcome), but that clay bar is something I just haven't felt comfortable about using. However, to it's credit, (as I'm sure you well know) many people on this website have used it and have said the results are outstanding. Oh well, I think just a good ol' bath and wax for the Mach will have to suffice for now. Thank for the reply.
