Rat rod to Show car, all are welcome. I have a hidden agenda. My interest in having a unique hot rod made me start this thread. The more unusual the subject the better. Like most rodders, I plan to combine the elements I like from existing cars and where possible. try something new. Now my agenda is not so hidden.

I used the term, "rodder" for myself above but it should be "wannabe rodder" for now. :ORANGE:

Here's what the guys at Kirkham Motorsports are making. A '41 Willys in aluminum on a 427 Cobra style chassis. These are the guys that made the 40GT (1940 Ford roadster with FORD GT powertrain) in copper for Ford at SEMA (cover of Autoweek Magazine).

http://home.earthlink.net/~stan999/upload/KMP2005-1141.jpg

It's made in Poland by areospace workers at a former MiG fighter plant - like their 289/427 Cobra replicas.

Real Rods have flatties! :PIMP:

I hear that from my friends too. I know nothing about them and I want cheap frame-twisting torque. The FE will do that, even a 352. I plan on a 428 and that will be a crazy amount of torque. I could save some $$$$$ by using a 390, it won't roll up pavement as well.

http://www.jambra.net/6911/Photographs/Airplanes/migs.jpg

The range part is true. I was flying an MI aircraft (Spyplane) near (very near) the N. Korean border when somebody flying lower screwed up. They scrambled Migs up North and turned on every Radar on Earth, it seemed. I had 2 other aircraft which I gave orders to do an emergency descent to the South. I stayed put as did the USAF aircraft above me (F16's and U2). As we tracked the approaching Migs we were told our position was good????????????? They got within 25 miles and were critical on fuel. We had some VERY disappointed Viper drivers. :23: :23:

Here's a photo of the second car the Kirkhams built for Ford Motor Company's 2005 SEMA display. The 40GT (no, not GT40) has an unpainted solid copper 1940 Ford roadster style body with a Ford GT drive train.

http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2005/2005-Ford-40-GT-SA-1024x768.jpg

The body/chassis was made in the former MiG factory. Here's what the Mig factory usually does:

Why yes I do, thanks for reminding me. :teeth: I haven't raced with my dad in many years. The last time we did, it was a visit to Langley Speedway in VA. I was in my EARLY 40's which puts my dad at about 80. The local racers were concerned about the old man and asked if he could use some help finding the line. He ran 4 laps of practice and qualified on the pole, just missing the track record. We got rained out after 10 laps of the 30 lap feature running 1 and 2. I had the lead but would have been dead meat around 25-27, he was just playing with me. WE DESTROYED'EM THAT NITE.

I couldn't tell, izzy serious or izzy just trollin!

The pix was taken at Tony's Bar & Grill in Redmond, WA. They had a great beer garden and women would come out and take their clothes off in front of my car. The gal at the top is the starter at Shelton, WA. drag strip. The lower pix she is standing between the cars.:D

I knew that look familar. The Pony Trail ended there. I really enjoyed that. And I know a S351 owner that enjoyed it more. I think he was in the low/mid 12s in a vert with no roll bar (he hasn't been allowed to run hard at Woodburn Dragstrip).

Nobody asked why the gals were taking their clothes off in front of my car. :frown:
