Here's a Kool event for you old-timers and the young'uns too:

For Immediate Release - The first entry for the Second Annual York US 30 Musclecar Madness show isn't a muscle car, but a car that has been loved by young and old alike, it is Herbie the "Love Bug" star of a Disney movie by the same name.

Herbie the VW bug will be surrounded by muscle cars of the '60's and '70's in the likes of the Super Car Registry Yenko Camaro's, Novas, and Chevelles. A '71 Hemi Barracuda convertible Billboard car which is one of one, being the only assembly line produced car by Chrysler worth over one million dollars and sporting every accessory that the factory had to offer including a rear spoiler.

World Championship drag racing entries include the '65 Plymouth of Ed Miller who won the '67 Super Stock NHRA World Championship along with the '68 Camaro S/S of the late Dave Strickler which he drove to the NHRA World Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Other stellar entries include "The Moose" of Paul Reinford, the Tony Nancy 22 Jr. Roadster, the Stoltz & Velasquez '40 Willys from Marion, Indiana, Joe Jacono's "Rollin' Stoned Funny Car, "Pete's Patriot" Super Stock '69 AMX plus a host of gas coupes and sedans from the East Coast Gassers and Dave Hale's '37 Willys along with the S&S Racing Team group led by K.S. Pittman, Pork Zartman, and Fred Bear along with a special appearance of the King & Marshall Top Fuel dragster from New England.

Special guests for the show include the popular Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst Golden Shifter", "Ohio George" Montgomery, Sam Auxier, Jr., Bruce Larson, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Bud Faubel, Herb McCandless, Ed Miller, Joe Jacono and many others.

Autograph and photo opportunities will abound with the Legends of Drag Racing reuniting at the show to celebrate the East Coast Heritage Days which will feature a tribute to the rich heritage of performance in the East and particularly of which York and York US 30 played a dominant role.

The Second Annual York US 30 Musclecar Madness show will be a revisit to the ever popular York US 30 Dragway featuring a huge display of memorabilia and artifacts from one of the finest drag racing facilities in its time.

The charity of choice for the show is the York County SPCA who will derive proceeds from the People's Choice voting and a special auction of memorabilia donated for this worthwhile cause.

Records will be set at the Second Annual York US30 Musclecar Madness show to be presented at the York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center on July 11-12, 2003. A record number of Legends of Drag Racing will be gathered in one location for the celebration of East Coast Heritage Days commemorating the rich heritage of performance in the East and of which York and York US 30 played a very dominant role.

The latest car entries include the Sox and Martin Duster, dragsters from Lynweld/Pat Bilbow, Larry Hammer's '66 S/S Nationals winning Shelby GT350 Mustang, eight dragsters and altereds of the Nostalgia Boys from Illinois, '66 Plymouth Belvedere of Jere Stahl that won every NHRA National event in 1967, Phil Bonner's "Daddy Warbucks" Falcon, Tom Sneden's '64 Dodge, Malcolm Durham's '65 Chevelle "Strip Blazer", Sox & Martin's '68 Barracuda Super Stock, the Old Glory Racing Team
Pro Stock Bike from Laugerman's H-D, the '63 Ford Lt. Wt. Galaxie of Bob Ford, the Hill Bros. Willys Gasser, the Pittman & Edwards '41 Willys B/Gasser, Jr. Thompson's '68 Opel, Ed Miller's '65 Plymouth World Champion Super Stock, Paul Blevins '55 Chevy Nomad, the "Moose Too" Ford Roadster of Horace Reinford, and the '73 Barracuda Funny Car "Rollin Stoned" of Joe Jacono and the list goes on.

The outside cruise in is expected to draw cars from all over the East Coast, as well as, car clubs who will be vying for the coveted Best Car Club Display award that will be presented to the club with the best display.

Proceeds from the voting for the People's Choice award and an exclusive auction of memorabilia will be presented to the York County SPCA the charity of choice for the show.

The show opens Friday, July 11 at 6 p.m. and continues on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. A regular schedule of activities will be posted which will include special autograph and photo opportunities during the show.

Here's the latest on the York US 30 Reunion.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The celebration of East Coast Heritage Days at the Second Annual York US 30 Musclecar Madness show on July 11-12, 2003 at the York Fairgrounds, York Expo Center will involve an Annual Reunion of the Legends of Drag Racing which will include the S & S Racing Team and three generations of the Joe Jacono family.

The complete Racing Team of S & S will be reunited for the first time since 1964 with all of the members of the team and Chuck Stolze of S & S Parts Company will be in attendance to greet members of the team, Gene Altizer, Fred Bear, "Pork" Zartman, Dave Hales, and K.S. Pittman. An opportunity that may never present itself again.

Three generations of the Jacono family, Joe Sr., Joe Jr., and Joe III will be reunited with the Joe Jacono "Rollin Stoned" Funny Car that Sr. drove in many encounters in the NHRA Northeast Division.

Another historic presence will be the altered wheelbase Dodge A/FX of the late Dave Strickler that was built in York by co-show promoter Bill Stiles. The Strickler family will be reunited with this famous race car that was one of the forerunners of today's Funny Car along with three of his other famous "Old Reliable" Chevrolet race cars.

Historic moments will abound during the East Coast Heritage Days with an appearance of the King & Marshall Top Fuel car from New England. The car has been articulately restored to original racing condition as it was in the '60's and '70's.

Yenko muscle cars from Supercar Registry will join proto-type Corvettes, Ford and Mopar muscle cars and Legendary race cars to round out the 138 vehicle entry field that will be displayed in the two exposition halls along with over 400 entries attending the Giant Cruise on Saturday on the outside.

Special guests include former World Super Stock Champion Ed Miller, Malcolm Durham, **** Brannan, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Herb McCandless, Ed Hedrick, Sam Auxier, Hubert Platt, "Ohio George" Montgomery, Jack Merkel, Linda Vaughn, "Pee Wee" Wallace, Jungle Pam, and the list goes
