Just got done installing the water pump:D No problems at all. Will post pictures ASAP.........Cost of the pump $335.99 (Jegs Catalog) Also will need to order the 30 Amp relay wiring harness w/20 amp fuse from Mezeire, part # WIK346 ($33.00 ) The pump is a steet/strip pump so it works in all situations

My Chromed Meziere Electric Water Pump went in this morning...cost me a little more than the standard Billet model, but it looks sweet! Performance shop said 12-13 hp gain and will definitely keep me running cooler...

Vic229

L.B.

Did you have it installed or did you do it yourself?? How much if you had it installed?? Took me about a hour to do it myself. Great pump, notice the HP difference yet?? Oh yeah and what is your temp reading?

L.B.
06-08-2003, 10:22 AM
Had it done at Xtreme Mustang Performance in Aliso Viejo www.X-M-P.com ...

Cost on the pump was $345 for billet aluminum...I paid $405 for the chromed model plus 2 hours labor...

Yes I can feel it...kinda like when you turn your A/C off and can feel your car pull harder

No temp gauge other than the stock one...but the Meziere is set to kick on at 207 degrees...a few seconds later it's back down below 200...

Now I have a water pump that can handle the 475 HP when my blower goes in ;)

Vic229
06-08-2003, 10:35 AM
If I knew you had the pump I would a done it for free:D About the temp where is your needle at once its warmed up, I changed my pump out so fast I never got a chance to see if it lowered the temp. the blower, thinking about going with a kenne bell or another type??

L.B.
06-08-2003, 11:04 AM
I'll keep that offer in mind...:D especially since we are about 15 minutes away from each other...

I didn't notice my temp gauge before either

I may have a chance to get a Paxton blower at a great price...I'll keep you posted

Well if you do ever need a hand installing something or whatever let me know, happy to lend a hand. According to our mods list I'd say we are thinking along the same lines, anyway enjoy the pump and the extra power:HOPPY: :HOPPY: :HOPPY:

WP346 also will need WIK346(wiring harness) if you want to do the job right.

Any Dyno results guys? I would love to buy one of these but need to see some dyno charts of before and after. Thanks for being the pioneers.

Dont have any before dyno, will get some dyno results once mach is back together. Should get around 12+ hp with new water pump. Can feel the difference with the new pump in :D

Just info...rpm outlet has them for $299...and claim 17.1 hp increase at the rear wheels

somehow I doubt that hp gain. But I am going to order one anyway. Do I need to get the "Electric Street Water Pump Relay" along with it?

Chaucer
06-28-2003, 09:19 AM
Crap... they are located in Texas. :( Stupid sales tax. *sigh* Oh well. Btw, I'll do before and after dyno test on the water pump since I basically have a stock vehicle (only K&N Air Filter installed). We'll get the real scoop on this pump.

I would get the relay, I went down and talked with the guys from Meziere, they recommend doing it that way, more protection than just hard wiring it into the system. Easy to wire in also. Part No.WIK346 cost around $35

Installed the water pump. Took my friend and I quite a while to install it because neither one of us have worked on a modern car before (we mostly work on our classic mustangs). So it was a new experience.

I can definately notice a difference in the car. It seems a lot smoother. I am going to get it dyno'd with the pump on Thursday.

Hey Chaucer whats your temp reading, L.B. and I didnt bother to check if there was any difference before or after installation.

Is your Temp Lower? Same? Higher? Dont Know?

Chaucer
07-09-2003, 10:56 AM
The temp actually lowered. The needle was on the right side of the little temperature picture now it is on the left side.

Here are my dyno runs.

Temp : 95 degrees (ouch)
Humidity : 36%

(All dyno's run about 800 - 900 ft above sea level)

First dyno run - Something messed up here. I think I shifted my foot which let off the gas a tad which messed up the air/fuel ratio.

http://www.chaucersworld.com/cars/1st run - stock.jpg

2nd dyno run - looking better. Heat is killing the results though.

http://www.chaucersworld.com/cars/2nd run - stock.jpg

*Installed Water Pump*

Car is running cooler and there is a noticeable improvement in performance.

3rd Dyno run

Temp : 89 degrees
Humidity : 58%

Wow. I would not have guess this at all. The max hp difference is 9 hp but for the most part the average gain across the board is closer to 12 hp.

http://www.chaucersworld.com/cars/3rd run - water pump.jpg

Comparing my 2nd run to my 3rd.

http://www.chaucersworld.com/cars/water pump.jpg

4th Dyno Run

Temp : 92 degrees
Humidity : 49%

Little bit lower on the results due to it getting hotter.

http://www.chaucersworld.com/cars/4th run - water pump.jpg

Overall - there was for the most part, a 12 hp gain across the board.

Thanks for doing the before and after dyno. I will definately be putting this pump on my list of things to do. Chaucer, It looks like you would gain a lot from a chip with a good fuel tune. That 11.6 is killing you!

Pete

Vic229
07-11-2003, 10:25 AM
Yeah it runs all the time, its wired in so when the car is running the pump is running, other than that its off. Pump should last 10yrs at least, watched the guys at Meizere build them, all high quality parts, all built in house.

Yea it is. I'm afraid to put in a better chip because of all the things you could do, adding a new chip voids like all the warranty on the car. :( But I am really considering adding a turbocharger(s) now so that might be a mute point in the near future.

Is there a noticable difference in sound with the Meiziere pump as compared to a stock setup? Can you hear it with the motor running or is the noise level not a factor?

Thanks!

Chaucer
07-12-2003, 12:54 AM
I dont notice any difference in sound.... then again.. I'm over 30% deaf in both ears so I am probally not the best judge on whether something is loud or not. hehe

Hey Bart...No you can not hear it at all...and everyone I know has wanted to see the pump itself of course :D so I have the hood open and I still can't hear it...

For anyone thinking about this mod I highly recommend it...the car feels smoother and pulls harder, it runs cooler and the pump looks sweet...It's a bargain in terms of HP increase as well in the overall mod picture...

Vic...thanks for backing my play on the blower issue...there's always a wet blanket out there somewhere, eh?

Pump very quiet, had to listen real close after I installed it just to make sure it was running

I agree L.B. looks, power, decent price, easy install. Great mod for eveyone.

Back you anytime, from the looks of it there is going to a few of us going the blower route. Lets see we have a turbo, vortech, and now procharger, now if Kenne Bell would get back to me and prototype one for my Mach we would have good idea of how each one performs.

Has anyone had problems with electrical feedback with these pumps? I don't believe the pumps are shielded and this can present some problems depending on locations of other electrical devices.

I'm always skeptical, but hey- 11 horsepower is not bad. Now isn't the best time, but later down the road when I'm starving for more, I think I will buy one of these. That is, when I'm running mid 11s.

Well this evening my Meziere water pump died, :( well maybe not died but it needs repair. The pump is still working but the pulley is shaking pretty bad, assuming the bearings are shot :OUCH: Got over 35,000 miles on it, first problem I have had. Hopefully it can be repaired, either that or I will just by a new one. Come to think of it, the pump is still under warrenty :) and Meziere is in located in southern Cali, should be up and running in no time again.

Pulled the pump took less than 10 min. Pulley bearings are wasted, other than that the pump still runs strong and looks like new on the inside. Called Meziere up, told them, they said no problem bring it in, they will repair or replace, turnaround time is 24 to 48 hrs.

just installed my meziere today and (last light) took my time no problems except trying to get the antifreeze out. drained about a gallon or so out and put back 3/4 of a gallon of antifreeze and just over a 1/2 gallon of distilled water.poured most of it back through the inlet pipe cross over.put the relay next to the passenger wall next to the #9 orange wire and a light in the car to keep an i on it..the pump made a lot of noise when it first came on till it got some water in it. quite now have to open the hood to here it. by the seat of the pants it feels stronger. going to birmingham sat. to let james with RWTD tune her up. for me it was worth it.
