Kinda broad question, a dealer could ask anywhere from 17-21 grand I imagine and depending on the pinpoint shape it's in you know, if tires are new and if all maitenance records are up to date etc. A private party would probably be cheaper as long as you have cash. Sure other more senior members here could chime in better but I know the price on them is stiffening whereas a year ago you could get one cheaper. Make sure you get an oasis report and try to secure maitenance records and look it over and listen to the motor and smell all the fluids.

Good luck and I just got my 04 2 mths ago and love it, no major probs but got it from a dealer with all records etc. (paid premium price)

Man that's impossible to know without being there but I def think you should be able to get it for a bit less than what he's asking if it's all you say it is. I'd still get an OASIS REPORT first. In the end you have to make the call while you are test driving it (take it for a long one), that's when I decided I was getting mine even when I couldn't get the price I wanted but that doesn't mean all Machs are dynamite cars after they are test driven either .. It Does seem like most people on this forum are pretty satisfied with their Mach1s but most everyone here is gearheaded and knows about mustangs (good thing too cause they helped me out alot..)

Hope this helps, Oh 1 more thing,

I remember after getting mine it took about a month to get used to it and realize how much different it was from my 2002 Nissan Altima SE which was a frontwheel drive but pretty peppy. Only recently have I gotten the feel of the car and stopped imagining bad things were happening and can really drive it and appreciate it as an all around good car. But at first I went on some real mind trips with it at first thinking I heard an engine noise and checking the oil after every trip to make sure it wasn't using any and just one anal thing after another. Now the Mach sounds and drives like a Mach and it's great except now I am trying to get a read on the mileage but can't keep my foot out enough to get a good one. But don't really care as long as no speeding tickets..

Good Luck ..

i know the car has been well taken care of like i said its my friends. he is a gear head too, he is on this forum too.
i just dont think 22k is reasonable seeing as kbb says it should cost 20k with 15,000 miles
and bone stock
would 20.5k be reasonable to offer?

would 20.5k be reasonable to offer?$20,500 is a VERY reasonable offer. I have an '03 with 14,000 miles on it and I'd take $20,500 in a heartbeat, IF I was selling. Of course, I only paid $20,900 + taxes brand new with D-plan and rebates, AND only owe about $12,000 on it now.

Maybe your buddy is upside down on it.....like most people who bought (and financed) their '03's early, believing these cars were going to be "collectible/limited production".

In all actuality, they're just another Mustang. Ford made a buttload of them and they're plentiful. That's why KBB is listing them at $20k.

I disagree> Machs are limited they made in 2003
Mach 1 with M/T - 7709
Mach 1 with A/T - 1943
and 2004 total 7131 models that is a pretty low total production count by
todays standards.IMO, They arent just another Mustang.

12,162 Cobra coupes.

2003 Cobra coupe production: 8394
2004 Cobra coupe production: 3768

So, what you're saying is that Ford made TWO limited Mustangs in 2003/2004?? I suppose we just need Fords definition of "limited". I'm guessing it means: limited to the number of cars they can sell!

Close to 17,000 Mach 1's. Seems like quite a bit to me. Does anyone
know how many Cobras were built in 2003-2004?

So, what you're saying is that Ford made TWO limited Mustangs in YES all manufacturers make several Limited Editions models I suppose we just need Fords definition of "limited". I'm guessing it means: limited to the number of cars they can sell!
http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com/ProductionMain.htm
total Mustangs built 2003/04 = 295,000 (divide Mach numbers) 16800 = 17% pretty low number I'd say. (Rough estimate, give or take a few.)
Now total mustangs produced, that is a buttload. Your also missing the fact that the Mach has a few special goodies that no other stang got except the Cobra and the Bullitt, which are also limited editions. Go back to the sixties all the manufacturers made Limited edition models as they still do today. Not every Mustang owner can get a Mach or Cobra. So how can you really say it is not a Limited production car and someday will be very collectible? So as history often repeats itself, a good percentage of Mach owners will be wreck or deface the car and the originals will be hard to find.
I would start at whatever book value is and there are several books to go by but Nada and Kellys are the most popular and start there. You may not get book but a clean auto with decent miles should be worth, to the right buyer and not a lowballer, around 20500.00. They are great cars and worth every penny to the right buyer. Good luck

P.S. Just a good ole disagreement on those words about another mustang but you had the price right.
