Hey Fred,
I got there around 8pm. I had gone to the Pavilions but it was WAY to crowded. I'm tired of parking a block away and having to walk to the cars!

By the time I got back to 57 AVE./Bell people were leaving.

Hope to see everyone this Sat.

Was there a new BMW 540i there? It was white with really nice wheels. I got behind him going north on 57th. He turned west on 101. I'll tell you the story on Saturday... dont want to say too much on line.

Actually that BMW really impressed me. For a family sedan to run that well is pretty good. I wonder what kind of engine/transmission they have? I'd never be able to afford one... but it would be a neat family car?

Rick, they have a 4.4L 32valve V-8.
290hp, 324 torque, and weigh about 3800 lbs. I have an X5 with the same engine, but it weighs around 4800 lbs. Still hauls the family (and ***) quickly though.

Hey Fred,
Ever since I saw the first commercial for the Dodge truck Hemi I've been curious about how they would run? There is a big difference between the ability to pull a house uphill against the wind... and outrunning another truck/car on the open road? I guess I've been around long enough not to be impressed by just a name (hemi). And I sure am not impressed by tv commercials, even though I like to chuckle at the funny ones. Until I see an unbiased magazine do a road test and see the time slips the jury is out? The hemi had a great design for getting air in and out of the cylinder... but DOHC does a great job too. I did like the hot little 360 short bed pickup they had a few years ago?

You're on Fred. I've always wanted to flog the X at the track.
I've seen Hemi Ram 1500 guys claim running 6.5 to 7.0 0 to 60 times and 14.8 - 14.9 1/4's measured with one of those portable gizmos. Impressive.

I don't know what it will do at the track but it is definitley better than my than the 4.7 Ram I had.I know the acceleration is way better and the gas milage is good too:THUMBSUP: I am thinking about putting a high performance exhaust system on it:D
