Carried my Mach to the track for the first time last night in Memphis. Everything is stock except for a ZEX nos kit. The car spun bad when I sprayed it but it still picked up 9 tenths on a 75 shot. I will have to give the Ol' ZEX kit two thumbs up!!!!!

It went 13.50's at 103 completely stock and 12.60's at 110 with the 75 shot. I have gears and drag radials that will be going on soon and a x-pipe, k&n, and chip ordered. It will be about a month before the mods are done because I will be out of town for about three weeks. I hope to have everything done by WFC.

I know this might be a old subject but how safe is nos for our motor.
My question is can our car handel a 100 shot with no extra mod's?? My last car had a return less fuel system and had problem's blowing up.. And is there a kit for our car now?
I would like to use a kit from NX.
Man i can see me now with a 100 shot i would spray like a mofo!!
At least once a week maybe nos would not be a good idea with my heavy foot.:D

I see no problem with using a 100 shot of NOS if you use it properly. I chose the ZEX kit because it regulates the amount of NOS compared to the bottle pressure making it VERY safe. ZEX now has a wet kit that will work with returnless fuel systems. Let me know if you have any questions.

I use a zex 125 shot wet system works very well.had to retard timing.watch using a chip that advances timing this will cause pre burn

I don't remember the part #...it is a new kit and is not in the catalog yet. Just call 901-795-2400 and ask for Joey in the ZEX department. Tell him Mike from FAST told you to call and MAYBE he will give you a break. I am still using the 75 shot until I get a chip to retard the timing a few degrees. Then I will step up to the 125 shot. That will probably be as brave as I get. Don't want to hurt my baby!!hehe I hopefully will go back to Memphis next week...my x-pipe and k&N FINALLY came in!!! Talk to ya later.

I would not advise running over 100 shot of N20 due to the factory cast pistons. If detonation accures you could crack the the top ring land. The key to running N20 is making sure the factory timing is no more then 10 degrees and running quality fuel with a proper octane recomended by the N20 kit manufacturer. You do not want to miss a shift on nitrous or hit the stock rev limiter. This will cause an excess of N20 to build in cylinders. There is much more to N20 and you should make sure you truely understand all the do's and don'ts of N20.

totally agree..i went and talked to a few people with alot more knowledge on this stuff than me.. and heres the run down.

75 wet shot on stock fuel.. stock tune is safe.
100 wet will need fuel mods and slight tune (timing).. main fuel issues are differing fuel pressure.. it fluctuates.. so i will do 75.. then monitor fuel pressure
Then do fuel mods (03 Cobra pump install or 03 Cobra tank).

150 will need bottom end work.. so forged pistons.. rods.. all the good stuff.. then i plan to run a 250 dual stage.. perhaps..i dunno if i'll get this far.. but i do plan on running at least 150.. with forged bottom end.

rightnow i purchased a used NOS wet system and will run 75 for a while till i work out the fuel etc etc..

Are you running any electronics that shut off the nitrous before rev limiter ? What is the lowest RPM you activate the nitrous?

Just curious how you have it set up.

I do not have anything to shut the NOS off before the rev limiter only because I shift about 6700 which is well below the factory limiter. I also don't activate the NOS below 3000 rpm's. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

Looks like you had a nice run on that 75 shot according to the 1/4 mile board taylor. Could you describe the run. When you shifted, when you used the shot, how traction was etc.? To me that run you posted with only 2 mods has to be one of the most impressive 1/4 mile runs on there and really lets us know what these Mach's are capable of.

I made this pass at Memphis along with a few motor passes. The track was in good shape but the stock tires suck. I left the trackion control on to help my spinning problem. I left at 2500 slipping the clutch just a little and shifted each gear at 6700. I had the NOS pressure at about 1050 psi. The NOS kit monitors TPS and comes on when at full throttle. I am guessing I was about 50-60 feet out when the NOS activated. It picked me up about 9 tenths just on the 75 shot. I have not tried spraying more but have heard from a 75 to 125 there is not much difference. Hopefully I will be able to get back to the track in a couple of weeks to try out the other mods I have added(drag radials, K&N,off road x-pipe, "chip, gears not installed yet". Talk to ya'll later.

Mike, I'm in Memphis in the Midtown area-15 miles from the track. :D I don't have a Mach, but have started considering one of the 04's. Did you run at Memphis Motorsports Park? If you get the chance to run here again, I'd really like to see your car. Maybe you could email me & let me know sometime you're heading up this way? :worship:

from what i have been able to gather.. people are advising against going over 100 shot without beefing up the fuel supply.. and dont do 150 unless you have internals.. if you want your engine to last..

It was at Memphis Motorsports Park on a test-n-night. My wife just had a baby a few days ago so I don't plan on going back for a while but when I do I will post it on here so we can meet up. Hopefully there will be another Mach in the family around October or November. My brother ordered an orange 04 last week!!! Talk to ya soon.

If I get an 04, I think the orange would have to be the color of choice  SVT of Memphis is hosting a show & shine this saturday from 10 till 2 or 3pm at Memphis Motorsports park incase you're interested. I won't be able to make it out, but just for your info (& your family's info!)

PS Mike, did you get your Mach 1 in Memphis? What should I expect to pay around here? Will anyone come down? I checked & Landers Memphis & Little Rock both have a Mach 1 at MSRP on their websites. Little Rock has an Azure, but not sure what Memphis has. I might try to look at the Memphis one if I can find the time.

I got my Mach at the ford dealership in Oxford, Ms. I did some trading for mine and they gave me one hell of a deal!!!!!! Those people were VERY nice and easy to deal with. They supposed to have three more on order. I will check on them for ya. Keep in touch.
