Red Stripes on Blach Mach 1s

Since I posted this subject on the old forum, I have had no good news. Many of you think that Ford should offer a selection of stripe colors for the Mach 1s, but that looks like it's not going to happen.

A firend in the auto body business says he has a rubber wheel on a drill motor that will take off stripes without damaging the paint. After I get the car and think about it for a while, I will probably remove the black stripes and put on some red/gold side stripes from a 1969 Mach 1 stripe kit. Then if I have to return to stock, I can remove those and put the black ones back on.

Sounds like a plan. That's the biggest reason why I went with Dark Shadow Grey over Black, because of the black stripes.. I figured the black stripes on the DSG would show the car off better. Personally, I believe the Black would look good with a Silver or Grey stripe kit.

I'm sure Ford will make replacement parts... And aftermarket companies should make the stripes in different colors if a demand is established.

yes it will big time....you might as well by a standard gt and customize it....

They should at least offer silver (argent) like the older ones that were available. Red would be kinda cool also on a black car.

The side stripes would look good in red, but don't touch the hood stripe. All red hood stripe? YUCK
