View Full Version : Front Swaybar Questions
I autox the Mach in F Stock class and will be changing the front swaybar soon. Is it legal to change out the mounting brackets or do I need to reuse the stock brackets?
What kind of lube should I use on the new polyurethane bushings?
Thanks for the help!

My understanding is you can switch out the stock bar (because it came stock), but you cannot change the bushings. That alone would bump you to ESP I believe.
Though it introduced back a little understeer the addition of the Steeda 35mm bar really helped make me faster in the slaloms. It really helps reduce the roll on our cars which are pretty heavy.
When buying the Steeda 35 MM bar, it comes with new polyurethane bushings, larger diameter bar = larger I.D. bushing size. It does say in the rule book listed under the front anti-roll bar section that "The use of any bushing material is permitted."
What I'm asking is, "Does the rules allow you to also change the mounting hardware, (anti-roll bar brackets) when you change the anti-roll bar?"
I don't know if the stock bushings will fit on the 35 MM bar. I hear you need to lube the bushing to slide it on the bar.
Gordon, Did you use the stock bushings or the ones from Steeda? Any installation tips you could pass on?
Thanks

Stock. Yes, had to lube it. Other than that I thought it was pretty straight-forward. I did have a Haynes manual which had step by step instructions for removal/installation. They are good books if your a novice mechanic like me.
I installed the bar yesterday and like you said, it was pretty straight forward on the install.
Good luck this weekend Gordon.
