This is good news, usually a schedule date and dealer eta will follow within a day or two. By monday I should have a official build date. No more material hold ! now its time to get excited!

I just got my comformation from my dealer also!!! Thats is awesome!! Should get my VIN from him today. He said build date will be here shortly. Did anyone read the new MMFF blurb about Ford possibly bumping production up to 8000 units and that the price might be lower than expected??? Makes since. I wouldn't mind them producing 2k more if the price is lowered some. What do you think??

Don't count on it, Kevin. This is meant to be a limited-production car, just like the Bullitt before it. It will be held to 6500 units, count on that!

I think that it just follows in order of the next mustang off the line. The R means its a Mach I. And we can most likely contact ford to determine what number Mach we have. I may be wrong though.

That sounds like he's waffling to me! I got that straigtened out up front back in May! Of course I was one of those critisized for paying sticker, but at least I have it in writing that when that car get's to the dealership, I need to hand over a check for $29,290, no haggling, dealing, or whatever.

Just talked to my sales manager, he talked to the regional GM this morning. Yes, they started pulling orders last night and VINs for the 1st run should be completed with Delivery Dates by Monday. He was told that they are building the 5-speed first and no eta on the autos.

He told me that I should get my pulled and have all the info on Monday, the GM told him that it looks good that I will be included in the 30 for my region! Not bad for ordering it in August. I still have a chance that it won't get pulled, but it looks very good. He didn't mention anything about them starting early.

He also said to not be shocked if there is another hold on them. They are using a lot of new parts and the possibility is high that something could be wrong or defective. Here's hoping for my VIN and to no problems! :CHEERS:

I don't know Dave, so far I think we have Delaware (Philly Region), Florida, Texas, and California getting pulled. Seems yours should be too. Do what I did, I called the dealer this morning, and of course he started in on the material hold on the interior upgrade, yadda, yadda, I interrupted, said get to a computer and look up my order. When he did he sounded real surprised, he said " oh my God, you have a serial number!"

My sequence # is 336552. Black98gt's is 336484. That is only 68 between us. but these numbers don't mean much, they could throw v6 and regular GT production into these numbers. In my sales region this kind of info gets updated usually on Thursday. I didn't get my VIN until this morning, but it was dated 9/12 so it might have come in late yesterday. If you don't have a VIN by this evening it will likely be next Thursday before new #'s are released.

I think they may be giving me the run around because I'm younger than most perspective buyers of this car would be. Should I march in there and demand all my answers or have faith in my dealers. They do seem like straightforward honest people, but I gues with the importance I'm placing on this beautiful car I AM getting paranoid about getting screwed. Anyone else in Florida gotten any answers from their dealers???

First of all, I am in the N.Y. zone, my sequence # is 336594. I placed a call to a senior manager I know at the Dearborn assy. plant this afternoon. Here's what he said.

First of all, he said he's getting calls from many of the regions trying to expedite cars. (he says that there are too many Mustang "wackos" out there..ha ha.).

The Bad news..... only 124 cars have received vin#s so far, and he doesn't know if or when more will be assigned. Of the 124 "serialed" cars, all will be built the week of Oct 7, which is and will remain job # 1. ( the good news for people with vin#s). The machs will be mixed with other mustang production, and Ford will build approx. 4 Mach 1's per hour- less in the beginning, more as they get rolling...he explained that engineers and plant managers are on hand for the initial launch, since its a model that the assembly workers have not seen before. This not only slows production, but gives the Union- employed workers an "excuse" to slow down (sorry it's true). But he states 4/hour average will hold true.
The other news is that, as far as he knows (and he would know) Ford will not be numbering the Machs like they did the Bullitts with decals on the left shock tower. I assumed all along that they were. His exact comment was "It doesn't matter where your's is built in line, because as far as I know, they are not numbered like we did with last years Bullitt..."
The only thing that could hold production now is another hold for supply, mechanical, engineering etc. issues.

124 x 52 = 6448 = number of cars to be produced

USNLT I'm here in Ft. Walton Bch. I ordered from Gary Smith Ford. I bought my last mustang from World ford and went there first trying to be a loyal customer. They told me without a doubt at LEAST 2k over. Gary Smith still hasn't decided but I'm hoping I can deal with them to get stick or verry little over.

wannabdsg- the item number you refered to is probably the order number. It is just used to keep all the orders separated better, like when you order 15 F-250's all the same. It is used to look up your particular order in the order bank.

Actually I took over one of their stock orders with a deposit so I'm not sure when they submitted their own order. which was a stock order they had already placed.

dealership stock orders. Also, my priority was a

Well guy's I got my full vin # this morning. I guess from here I get ahold of my UAW rep give him my vin. and he is supposed to be able to make some calls and give me a build date. Then I can set up the plant tour on build day. Don't worry, I will try and get the pictures for everyone.
