I found a vortech supercharger kit used for sale pretty cheap. The only thing is it is on a 98 cobra right now. would I be able to get it to work. I dont really mind if the shaker hood was no longer functional but just wanted to know with the proper brackets would i be able to swing it.

The problem with used stuff is it may need rebuilding and need bearings. Plus blower kits are hard to adapt from one model to another. Trying to save a few bucks could cost more in the long run if you just went new. Just my two cents. :smokin:

contact vortech, they will know the facts for sure

I know you will have fitament issues with the alternator hitting the blower bracket, and things like that. If you dont mind all the hassle, then the install might be worth the money saved. But like stated above, if anything needs rebuilt or renewed, you might be spending more than its worth.

thanks for the reply. I really thought it would work because people were putting vortechs on the mach before they came out with the kit that actually fit the mach. I am sure icould even find the blower bracket that actually fits the car. thank you

If your getting it cheap enough, the bracket could be bought and youd still save $$$. :)

I actually just talked to vortech and they are telling me the only thing i would be able to use is the head unit itself. I would have to buy there base kit which is another 2100$. I dont think this is true because people were putting superchargers on there mach before the actual kit for the car came out. So they had to be using a kit from another car and it would of had to of been from a 98-02 cobra 4v. So I am confused now.

I know of one guy that installed a Cobra kit on a Mach, but again, it was a mod-as-you-go type of install. I would say its going to be 90% more install hassle than a Mach kit.
