I have read on here about members wondering what a Nitto 555r 275/40/17 Drag Radial looks like on our stock rims. If it bulges too much? If they do not sit flat enough etc..

I just took the car out from storage and took a few pics to show what my Nittos look like. I run 27.5 psi in them for the street so they do not wear the centers out. I had these on last season and have about 40 passes down the drag strip with them and daily driving in the summer. I will include a shot of the stock fronts to show difference. I really like these tires and they have done the job for me being a street/strip tire. Peace.

Nice, thats exactly how my 275 yokohamams look and I run them at 27 psi, basically the same pressure. I personally like the look of the tire bulging over the rim a bit and best of all it protects the rim from curbrash. Good Pics.

looks good to me. If you really wanna check and see how the tires are wearing, put a nice thick chalk line across the width of the tread and then see if its wearing off evenly

That doesn't look to bad. I feel better about running that size of DR on stock rims now. Thanks!

Be careful with tire pressure, it has a direct effect on your braking ability.

I might just have to get me a set of those on the back. Since the BFG's run bigger, could you still run a 275 on the stock rim? Just curious :)

I've been running the 275/40 nitto DR's on my car everyday for the past 8,000 miles! I've done plenty of burnouts and made numerous passes on them and they are still in very good shape riding on them everyday...they hold up alot longer than the BF's.

I put the same ones on my rear.. and wow... i dont know what everyone is talking about saying that it effect the handling.. hangs over.. etc.. i think they look and feel great.. the difference between these and the stockers is amazing.. outstanding traction and they look 500 percent better.. its a must buy for any mach owner

I had the 275's the first time and this time I got the 245-45-17 dr's and I think they look alot better. I also have 1 inch spacers in the back. you really can't even tell my car has dr's now.

Now for a question from a tire noob.....how long do they last as a daily driver, mileage-wise?

Mileage varies of course with use. All I wanted out of them was two seasons and one has past already. I have heard 12,000 miles is safe. The pics of mine are with one summer as stated. Peace

I have buddies wth 500-600 hp camaros/ vetts that use these tires.. They dont "smoke" them, they dont race EVERY stop light .. but they use them much like most of us do abuse wise, and the get an average of 14000 to 20,000 miles.. i dont know about you guys.. but that is alot of miles to get out of a tire that gives hella traction and lets us put our power to the ground.. i priced them through discount tire before i bought them.. our stockers were 145 ea.. and i paid 159 ea for the dr.. not much diff in price..

i just put 275 mickey thompson ets street drags on today i love the look, just hope nothing breaks on the track (since my axles and rear end is stock) but then again i dont plan on launching at 6 1/2 either...

Are the 555dr's squirly around corners? I'm kinda new with tires. I know how crappy the skaterbacks are.

Have not had any issues with them, They are good around corners and you will be able to feel the traction difference once on. Car responds better.

Yeah thanks a lot Gfong for thatinfo because that is exactly what I was going to do but many have told me it is unsafe - so I am very confused - I mean I just want some better tires in the back until I get the M1r wheels

that's actually about how 315s look on a 9" rim too... they do look way too stretched on a 10.5" rim... rim hangs on the outside of the tire
