Almost done on installation. I found that I am going to go with a Cobra heat exchanger set up, instead of installing the Vortech aftercooler. (That's why the battery is still there.)

I will post pic's of the whole car after installing the Autometer cluster and Lunar tach.

I am hopefully posting a pic of the engine on this thread. Hope it comes out. (If it doesn't, please advise)

Thanks.

Looking AWESOME! I really like the Canton res.! What do those things run? How many psi are you looking at for daily use? Great job!

The Canton res. goes about $179.00. It's alot of money, but I feel it's worth it. Once I install the heat exchanger, will be added mass air, and then a tune.

Probably looking at 8 p.s.i. until I build a cobra short block... but since I only have 2,400 miles on the Mach, this might be some time away!

Thanks.

That looks great...are you running the stock pulley on yours...if you are what size is the belt? I bought a blower but it has a smaller pulley on it and I want to put the stock size pulley and belt on. In the manual I've got they actual list 2 different size belts in the parts list, thanks Ron.

Stock pulley. I'll have to check my parts sheet to see what belt was used.

I'll post on Tues.

Thanks.

Thanks,

It took about 6 weeks in my guy's shop. I told him to take his time. He installed the s/c unit. I helped install the fuel pump, lowereing springs, louver, etc, while it was there.

Installed the Autometer guage pod last week, and will install the boost and fuel pressure guages, along with a 5" tach this weekend.

Then 4:10's, moser axles, upper & lower arms, etc...etc....does it EVER end???

(hope not)

Look's great! Can I have some money? Do you know if there's a kit so the shaker can stay functional with the vortec supercharger? I just can't get over losing the functionability of my shaker, but your dyno numbers will probably really press on my decision. :23:

Man that looks sweet, I'm impressed. Where did you buy the Canton res. from?

No more shaker :(
Does it now blow air into the engine bay, or is it completely blocked off?
Also, if you are blowing air into the bay, is that any more or less efficient with the consideration of your heat exchanger. In other words, does it help or hinder thre process.

Here's a conversion kit so you can use your shaker. I'm wondering if it's a full kit? Or do I have to customize everything to make it work?

Wow!!! I haven't seen that part yet.

The air from the shaker now blows onto the belt area. I'm going to modify it so it also will blow on the s/c. I doubt if it will help either way, since you would have to maintain high air flow for an extended period of timeto have any real affect.

I also have deceided to get an aftermarket heat exchanger. Better cooling than a stock Cobra unit= more horsepower. That's always good.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it.

I believe the Vortech kit dumps the external shaker air at the filter, so you suck in cool air as opposed to hot engine bay air. I suppose this could keep things a bit cooler.
I'm no pro when it comes to S/C'ing by a long shot, just thinking.
I don't know if the heat exchanger or intercooler would eliminate the effect of the external cold air... or if an added CAI would also negate it. And I'm not in the mood for research. :OUCH:

The heat exchanger is basically a radiator for the supercharger, using coolant to cool the s/c.
I'm sorry, I think I'm missing your point.

When you compress air it adds heat. A heat exchanger such as an intercooler or aftercooler cools down the compressed air.

Yes, I know that much. But cooler air also creates more power. I am saying I'm not sure if the Vortech kit which dumps external ambient air onto the intake air filter would cause any more of a cooling effect, and thus more power. If it did, it would be worth it to rig the shaker up in that way.

That conversion is for CDCs 2v shaker setup. It will now work with our factory installed shakers.

Everyone does realize that Vortech now makes a Shaker adapter for their S/C'ers. I think they want yet ANOTHER $500-$550 for that! For all the money that Vortech charges their customers and not to make any more power than Procharger is rediculous! Granted, the vortech kit is more sexah...but the WS6 along side of you doesn't care about that.

It will now work? or was that a typo and you meant to say not work with our factory shakers?? I would love for the shaker to be hooked back up, but not for $500.
