im lookin for a trade and cash,we will take the private party values of each, and deduct the value, for example the value of my cobra is 30,200, the value of a 03 mach with 30k is 19000, id need the mach and 11000

Good luck finding that...I could sell my mach for $19k and buy a 04 Cobra for $26k-$27k and 03 cobras are going for $23k with around 20k miles...Yea the orange might help, but $30k is way too high imho

That looks just a bit lop sided to me! Good luck finding :MADNOEL: THAT deal!

Been there tried that, I first had an 03 Cobra, bought a 03 Mach now I am back in a new 03 Cobra, I found a leftover 03 Cobra with 128 miles on it for 25,700 plus tax. Paid about 27K with shipping, I don't think you will find anyone willing to give you that much difference. Maybe on a salvage titile car or something, Wish you the best.

o and if you trade in your 03 mach 1 at a dealership your gonna get about 15k

the whole point is that nobody would trade their 03 mach in at a dealer, they would come out still paying on it probably. The best bet you would have is to sell your cobra privately hopefully get enough it pay it off and then look for a mach 1. I wanted a cobra at first but they would finance it for me but now if i wanted a cobra, I would be giving you a car with 5000 less miles and 11000. Thats not really worth it at all for the other person.

Your best bet, as stated, is to sell the Snake and buy a Mach. Money talks, and trades walk. Not gonna happen here. Besides, we ALL love our Machs too much to ever sell one. Right guys?

Substanger, I agree with you for once! Please mark this day on your calendar so we can celebrate it next year.

No bashing here! However, I just recalled that when I bought my 04 Mach 1 back in 11-03, the dealer tried to sell me a new 03 Cobra. They wanted $32K. Just a comment. Take the comment for what it's worth and nothing more.

my view on this is... it would be worth it for the person who wants a cobra and tried to trade it in at the dealership. I was just hoping to luck out and find someone in that situation, i would atleast use lube ... they wouldnt hahahhaa, i work for a large ford dealer

Being that you actually WORK for a Ford dealer, I would think you'd get top dollar for your car. I know I have a great relationship with the used car guys at the dealership I work at (we run all their used cars through our service dept) and if I needed a "favor", I think I could count on them to help me through it. Of course, they can only go so far, and if you're in BAAAADDDD shape equity wise on the Cobra, then I guess I can see why you're grasping at straws by putting that offer out.

I think your better off just trading the cobra in at the dealer and get your mach1. If you can find any left over.

KBB says my o4 mach with 3K on it is worth $23,380.......

uhhhmmmmm........no not my car with the upgrades AND another $6400 bucks.......

puhhhhhhh..........forget that, i've got more than the difference into the car.

A straight trade perhaps but no, way would i flop another fist full of cash in your hand

02-10-2005, 05:26 PM
Well, i think DRU521 would be in a better position to trade his cobra on a mach 1 because the value of his cobra is worth more than a mach1 and thats what he wants. Unless i misunderstood his post.

Orange whip 04
02-10-2005, 05:31 PM
I ment to trade it at the Ford dealer. I dont think people are willing to give up there machs esp when they sink a bunch of money into them. He'll need to get some thing from the dealer on a mach that has already been traded in unless he can find a new left over mach1.

I had a dealer offer me $21k trade in for my car(2004 Mach with 8k miles) and there is no way I would let it go for that. It looks as if you are asking a premium for the cobra. I wouldn't say this except for the fact you disclosed you work for a dealership, I can't help but think that this isn't your car but a car on the lot you are trying to sell. You should be able to sell your car on the lot fairly easily, I would think.

If you really are trying to sell "book value" to "book value" then I think that is a great deal for someone wanting a cobra. $30,620 for the Cobra, $23,270 for the Mach.

IMachU
02-13-2005, 09:22 AM
Or $28,000 for an 03 stock with around 21K miles, and $24,000 for the Terminator with the same miles. THAT is a fair trade. I know, up until 2 months ago I worked at a dealer selling cars part time. It almost sounds like you are doing a 4 square right here!

I think that is a crappy deal. I would give you my mach1 and maybe a couple thousand, but that is it man. You should have known you were going to take heat for such a bold offer. Well good luck take the advise and trade your car in or lower what you want. If you can post a picture I would like to see it.

02-21-2005, 03:05 PM
you guys are obvioulsy biased towards your machs and i can understand thats why blue book for blue book is the way to go , and honestly i dont want a mach but i need to low my payment about 100 bucks a month, the cobra is twice the car for the money 6spd, irs, suede interior, BEING A COBRA, 1 OF 281, SUPERCHARGED, if i wanted a mach originally i would have bought one for my A plan price of 23500 but instead i bought this cobra for 29500 so i guess id take 6000 and a trade, which is very fair, whether you like it or not

EZMachN
02-21-2005, 07:22 PM
So now your saying you bought it new for $29,500 but after 7500 miles, you think it's worth $30,200?

Let me help you, if you payed $29,500 for it, then ask around $25000, and go buy a Mach1 for $19k and theres the difference of $6k your looking for

dru521
02-22-2005, 10:53 AM
im not selling it for 30,000 thats just what kbb sais, thats what we would be going buy if i traded, and whatever says as well, ive already got offers to sell it at 28000 but they live in different st ates, but i will probably go with that option

I wouldn't take that deal either simply because I wanted a Mach to begin with, so I bought one... but PLEASE don't resort to ricer BS by playing the "if" game. You might as well talk about taking away our high compression, or our 3.55's, or an almost infinite number of if's. Fact is: the Cobra IS supercharged. Granted, the statement that the Cobra is twice the car is a big exaggeration... but he's entitled to his opinion.

I would like to see him put a 99 or and 01 cobra intake on and see if he could run with our cars. That is all I am saying. Or let me slap a charger of equal psi and run agains him. Our cars we cheaper so with the money we saved we could really do some damage. That is all I am saying. If I could I would slap you for the ricer comment man. If I was a ricer I would be looking at something with twice the amount of cylinders

It's a non-arguement though. The Cobra is not just a Mach or GT with a blower slapped on it.

Not callin' you a ricer, but that is one of their favorite hypotheticals... handicap the competition until they can't "win".

As far as the cost effectiveness of adding a blower to a Mach1 to run with the snakes... I'd agree that it could be done, but it's been argued to death and is moot just as soon as they start modding their's.

:smack: ...got you first. :smokin:

Then if you don't want a Mach anyway, refi your snake.

IMachU
02-23-2005, 08:50 PM
Yup....refinance your Cobra, preferably with a credit union. You have had it for a while, so you have paid on the principal for the loan, which means you owe less on it than when you bought it. Refinance at a lower rate and less money borrowed=keep the snake! Hope this helps ya!! I'd hate to see someone lose a dream car. That is a heartbreaker every time.

They made less Mach's than the same years of Cobra's. I think each has it's own appeal. The Mach is the first car where after paying on it for a year and a half the car is worth more than I owe. That is with 60 month financing. Of course, it didn't hurt I walked of the dealer only financing 23,400 ($500 for paint protection warranty included in that price). Otherwise it would have been $22,900. The best DEAL I could find on a used Mach was 21,000 for a tr auto with a 1,000.

02-24-2005, 01:47 PM
the cobra is twice the car for the money

Now you are just gettin overly defensive. The Cobra is one heck of a car, but twice the car...no way. They are different cars with each having their own uniqueness. If you had said 6K difference to start with people would have not been so critical.

After reading this thread, it sounds like Dru is topheavy on his car loan and knows that his own dealership would pound him in the pooper on a trade. When you start an offer (his) by saying you want to get into a lower car payment, you pretty much make it a buyer's market.

I'm going to guess Dru isn't in sales at his car dealership.

I'm going to guess Dru isn't in sales at his car dealership. :LAUGH:Sales or not in sales, they still should NOT give him the shaft :butt:.

I'm going to guess the Dru just wasn't too smart and got himself deep into a car payment that the dealership just can't help him out of without buying a Focus.
