Ok, I'm really going to show my ignorance with this....
I'm getting ready to order a pair of Goodyear F1s for the rear to help when I go to the strip in March. I want to order the 255/45s which will add 10mm of tread width and 4 mm of sidewall height to each tire. I was told that even the 4mm change in height ratio (rear to front) can actually decrease the benefit gained by extra tread width.
That wouldn't be a an issue going all the way to 275s since the 40 aspect ratio would keep height basically the same but I'm not that brave.
Is that true or just bunk?
Thanks
