What should I expect for numbers on a stock automatic for an avg? I am going to do my first dyno to get a baseline before I add my first mods, K&N Air Charger, and Borla Catbacks.

Also, does anyone know how much the diablo predators are?

Are you going up to Concord, NH this Saturday for the Mustang dyno event? Three pulls for only $40.

There is a local performance dealer that has access to a dyno, I was thinking of taking it there.

Hey, where in MA R U? I'm in Taunton.

expect around 276 HP and 293 Torque. That is avg for stock.

There are a couple of excellent articles floating around about having a car dynoed. The lastest article was in Motor Trend a month or two ago.

Basically, your horsepower and torque results can vary greatly depending upon what type of dyno is used. The best dyno test is one that best simulates "real world" driving conditions. This is done by placing a high volume fan in front of the car to simulate air flow, among other tricks. This is backed up independently by Ford engineers who say that the shaker hood on our Mach's actually starts working best at speeds of 80 mph or greater.

The numbers you gave stock R 4 a 5 Speed, what about an Automatic, they are lower.

There are many great articles on Dyno's and I know it's not to be etched in stone as true HP and Torque numbers, but it's a baseline to start with, especially when planning mods.

Yes auto will be lower. Not sure what they would be.

Tach9 over at Mach-1 org, was running a group purchase for $285, but you would have to hurry, though.

Well, I'm not impressed, I had my first STOCK dyno today. I know it's an automatic, but geez, c'mon, here's what I posted.

253.67 RWHP 270.74 RWTQ

A/F 13.8

What are other AUTOs out there getting?:(

Was that on a Dynojet?

Yes it was a DynoJet.

I can't believe it would be that low, I was expecting at least 265-270 for HP, and around 280 TQ.

I know 5 speeds are getting upwards in the 280's. I'm wondering if I got a bum engine here?

To see if you have a bum engine or not, why not take your car to a race track and run off some 1/4 miles? If you can get into the mid-high 13 second range don't worry too much about what the dyno said. Different dynos can give different results.

I think you're right MacMach1. I am venting right now because I was totally shocked. I have been messing with this thing since I got it, and it responds, I really don't think there's an engine problem.
This is probably case and point to you're earlier response about putting too much in Dyno's. Not to mention, it's only got 2000+ miles on it, and still has some break in left.
I know one thing, I'm definitely getting the K&N CAI, and either Borla or Bassani Cats soon.

a/f 13.8 ????

that doesn't sound right to me.
any a/f experts have any comments ?
please shed some light.

From get go to about 4K RPM it was at 17, then from 4.25 on to 6KRPM it leveled out at about 13.8.

I asked them if this was okay, and they said it was perfect. What should it be?
I'm concerned because I do want to add the CAI, but I don't want to mess up the A/F ratio too much.

i got this from another post.

Most of our cars seem to be set up with about 12-1 (give or take a little) WOT A/F from the factory. Most think you make the most power around 13.25-1 A/F. Above that and engine damage can occur. So apparently the factory put in a little safety margin. There is an old saying of NASCAR drivers about how their cars ran the best just before they blew. That's why.

i think if you put on a cai ,it would be higher.
i'm no expert on this.......i need input also
