I didn't want to get tangled in this but...so if you are the original process owner you can take over at any time...;) (redwolfstang?)

I sent an email to Partshopper (Pro3 ind) to see what kinda deal we could get with 10 or more sets purchased. I asked for the price to include shipping.

Not sure if you are aware, but the price toward the first of the year was $155 (still reflected on the Registry product page as that)...it is now listed for $159.95. I'm certain that will factor on the final price.

I will post the response as soon as I hear from them. :HOPPY:

Here is the message I received from Pro3i:

Tom, I am sure we can do something on the Trim Panels if at
least 10 people can make the GP. We can offer them at
$149.95 with free shipping - FedEx Ground ($4.95 handling fee
applies). When all members have made their purchase we will
ship the trim panels at one time.

Pro3 Industries, Inc.

$154.90 total shipped, if my math is correct. So we need confirmation of 10 people BEFORE anyone orders for us all to get the discounted price.

So if you want in on the purchase, post another email confirming you want to purchase at this price--once we have 10--we can all go to partshopper.com and make the order with group buy in the remarks (or call them).

What's tach9's M1 overlay--a decal? Has he posted anything on it?

I sent sn95guy an email asking about a group purchase rate. Problem is his website is not set up for e-commerce and is not secure. Told him I needed a phone number as well. Will let you know what I get back.

ShakerMach1 the panels that you are looking at are the orig factory panels with the GT area that they make a funky Mach 1 to sit in its place. The CDC ones are not factory and have had the area redone so that it is made to hold the Mach 1 emblem.

I would really make sure you go with the CDC ones they will look factory and not like you tried to rig something.

Do we have anyone that still wants the GP of the CDC trim panels at the current price?

redwolfstang
05-12-2004, 10:22 AM
I, as many other mach owners, think the $150 price is too high for the trim panels.

We can already pay that but only save on the shipping:(

I would do a GP if its toward the $100-115 range.

It does seem like we have quite a few owner interested in the item but we need to like the price.

Let me check some places.

redwolfstang
05-12-2004, 04:13 PM
I think that we may have a deal......

I emailed MRT about the GP and here is their reply......

Joe,
I'd love to do a GP.
I could set the price at $130.00 and free shipping in the Continental
US.
I would need 10 orders before I could pull I off.
Regular price is $154.95

Thanks!

I'm interested. How do you reuse the ford emblem? Do these come with new adhesive or something? I assume everything (honeycomb, emblems) is just applied with 3m trim tape or similar.

Anyone have experience with this kinda thing?

Mister L
05-13-2004, 09:17 PM
add me to the list. Sounds like a good deal and an oval is nothing that I can't get an extra from Ford. I only need one set ............for the White Mach

yes, everything can be reapplyed using the 3m trim tape.

here is the description of the panels:

Classic Honeycomb Trim panel is available for 99-04 Mustangs. Part consists of 3-piece black, Mustang heritage, Honeycomb. (For each trim panel you will be removing your factory emblems and reusing at least the Ford Oval, on the GT’s you will also be using your factory GT Emblem, the Mach 1 Trim Panel comes with an emblem and the V6 Trim panel requires a purchase of a V6 Emblem. All trim panels come standard with the appropriate cut out so no modifications are necessary. This injected molded plastic is applied between the taillights in approximately 30 minutes. No drilling required just simply applies with 3M 2-way Acrylic Bonding Tape. Warranty - 3 years.

So we now have 4 on the list:

1. Myself
2. FstMvr
3. Sexyredmach
4. Mister L

P Machy, all companies use the same trim panel made by CDC. It will look like what you have seen on other machs.

Yep, just got 'em a few minutes ago. I won't have a chance to put 'em on for a day or two :(

Looks pretty cool, but there are no directions, other than "surfaces must be cleaned with isopropyl alchohol"

So how do the stock emblems come off, and are there any things to watch out for in the install?

how much pressure do you need to use when you stick 'em?

You can take the emblems off by using some fishing line or maybe floss and work your way around the corners on the backside. Then just start twisting it and moving it. The ford emblem makes a hole in the decklid, i believe????

the mach 1 emblems should be very easy to get off.

You might also try a hairdryer to get the glue to soften for removal of the emblems.

I would assume they fit snug and once you push in firmly, that's it. firmly as in just leaning up against the panels should be enough force to keep them on.
