I placed my order today for the Azure blue w/ interior upgrade.
I wish I could say it was easy!
The first dealer ( one of the largest in the southeast) said that they didn't have much info on the Mach(BS),and that they couldn't sell me one. Then they said that they wouldn't sell it for MSRP,he later said that when they started ordering the T-Bird they sold them 8,000 over sticker!
The next dealership said no problem.I asked how much and he said around 31,000.So I asked if he would sell it for 29,290 and he agreed but they are planning to mark them up later on.
Don't worry,I plan to make sure that I don't take it in the ***.

Should I get a confirmation soon?

well yaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Get your order in, get a copy of your DORA (confirmation that dealer submitted your order to ford) and get your price in writing signed and dated by Sales Manager.

My dealer placed my order on 8/19, I had to leave for business reasons before we could get the paperwork finished. He assured me he would sell it for $1000 under MSRP ($28290). When I returned on Saturday to finish the paperwork he had my DORA and all of the paperwork ready. My final price was $28014(He said it was a % thing, I did not argue) + TTL. They did not hesitate to give me a Price sheet listing the selling price, TTL and showing my deposit($1000) as a down payment. I now know exactly what I am left with, I will put more money down to lower my payment. I am just waiting to see what financing will be available from ford.

Another note: My insurance co. said at this point my insurance will be at the GT rate. She did say that might change as more information becomes available.

Good Luck!

Thomas

I got my order confirmation today.
It also shows a priority of 10, even though I ordered it yesterday.
SO, now comes the wait and I couldn't be any happier.

I do see the hold that everybody was refering to,hopefully there willn't be any more delays.

Does my priority mean that I will recieve the first Mach?
Seems a little late for me to be getting the first in such a large city.

First at the dealer you ordered from.. Priority codes are only for dealer internal... it says to FOMOCO, (paraphrase of FIVEOHB) "PR 10 says, ' I want this to be the first of the mustangs i've ordered that you build and send to me... "

not the first made, the first they make your dealer.. could be the 3,010th that actually rolls off the line.

yeah I knew it wouldn't be THE first Mach. Just thought somebody else would have ordered one before me by now at the dealership.

But, I can't wait to see people turn their heads as I drive by.I'm just sick of seeing tons of other mustangs just like mine, even though some were customized to the point of being considered a Honda lowrider.I guess this will be a different story with the Mach since most people will find out after they have all been sold.
