Took the Wifes explorer back on Lease.. We wanted a lower payment and stumbled on this car by accident.. But I have to say.. I love it! wanted AWD due to the crappy weather we have here in Ohio.. So that only came with the bigger ecoboost motor. Car gets moving pretty well for a family car\sedan..

Anyone else on here have one?? Im looking into a few cheap quick mods.. Tint is a must.. Might Dip the wheels black.. might get a intake spacer and TB spacer. A BOV and maybe manual Boost controller..

very nice, we picked up a 15 titanium with the ecoboost since it had a boat load of rebates and we really like it!

Tint is a must, we did that in the first week I think.

all those other mods, I dont think you need any of them, if they even sell them. The boost is controlled through the computer, a tune will turn the boost up a few psi. She doesnt want to tune hers due to warranty concerns (and she came from an old Saturn so this things already a rocket to her). Im trying to think who the **** guys name is to stay away from, not five star...southern speed maybe? The guy running it is widely known to be kind of a dick and from everything Ive seen his tunes run hard but theyre on the ragged edge and not as refined.

im not sure who I would actually recommend

Had a Titanium rental a few months ago. Definitely a nice car. When I was in TX a few weeks ago one of the other reps had the same car and he fell in love with it. Said it was a lot nicer than his Accord and he was going to have to rethink his American car mindset. Especially after I took him for a ride in the Challenger I had. The week before he wanted a ride in the Camaro vert I had, which was a piece of crap.

Jeff, you replacing the Focus or is the kid getting the Focus and you're adding to the herd?

I was going to leave this part out but since it seems to be an issue. I got pulled over by a TX Deputy Sheriff within 20 miles of picking the car up at the airport (had 3 miles on it). Was doing 59 in what I thought was a 50mph (yes still speeding) zone just to find out I missed the 45mph sign. While he pulled me over for speeding he was more concerned about the license plate not showing as being registered. I quickly showed him the rental agreement and waited for him to check it. Once it came back as being registered to National Car rental he let me go with a warning and said they had just dropped the speed limit in that area a few weeks earlier.

So in short, yes it is very easy to speed with the Ecoboost and not realize it until the lights come on behind you. :gears:

Apparently they have a decent aftermarket too. Not too shabby.

Kid got the Focii so now we have 5 cars and a boat at the house. Garages are stuffed!!

Time to build a new one.

If things work out right, I'll be adding Bobbie's Jeep to my collection. I certainly don't miss having 5 cars. Not home enough to properly maintain that many. It was nice being able to drive a different one everyday though.

Nice Fusion!! My wife bought one last year, I love the way it drives and handles. Such a smooth ride, feels like your floating on the pavement. Anyways congrats on the new ride!

do people actually have hard numbers on this? I just have a hard time buying into things like throttle spacers...the intake spacer I could see possibly helping. I havent looked into modding these things at all, just general thoughts.

Best mod for the ecoboost engines is a tune. Computer controls boost by estimating actual torque and comparing it to table values for desired torque.

You end up in the situation that you can't really do other mods without a tune because the computer will adjust the boost to equal a desired airflow and stock table value for torque.

well..looks like I need a tune!

These come with a turbo right? Crank up the boost! Nothing like a 700 HP family sedan to make the Corvette owners cry.
