View Full Version : Looking for an 04 Mach, Spending 15k Cash

I'm looking for an 04 Mach 1, preferably as close as possible to me. What I am looking for is a 5 speed, non yellow low mileage Mach with minimal mods. Mods that I actually want are full exhaust, 6 speed is a bonus, and wheels are fine if I actually like how they look or you also have the stock ones. Do not reply to this thread if your car has any of the following, please:

Is Yellow
Is an Automatic
Has a supercharger or rebuilt engine, or ever has had a supercharger or NOS.
Has dumb looking wheels, dumb spoilers/paint jobs/graphics
More than 50k Miles

I'm looking to spend around 15k, cash. I could go higher if the perfect Mach came along, but yea. I look forward to hearing from any potential sellers.

15k for a Mach with under 50k miles should not be a problem. Too many owners in here have been watching Barrett Jackson and think they are sitting on gold mines or they really do not want to sell.

I would take a higher mile termi for comparable money over the low mile Mach, but that is me. Heck, I don't even like the termi but in my mind it would be the better value.

Obtained mine in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and drove it to WA State. It was well-worth the trip!

Wow. I thought for sure you would've found something by now. I want to sell mine since I don't really drive it much anymore. 2004 dark shadow grey. 44,700 miles. 5 speed. Only thing not stock is a mac cat back and an intake spacer. I'm the second owner. The guy that bought it passed away in 2009. It's been pampered. Pm me if interested.

Mach1 B-2 and Brockott are selling theirs. Look them up. One is in Cali, and the other Seattle. :orange:

Mure

Yea I saw both. One in Cali is too low to make it up my driveway, the one in Seattle is overpriced imo.

I disagree, even a lightly modded Mach with under 50k miles should be had for 15k or less.

Regardless of what the cars has in it or what the owner wants, its value is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

He's been looking for almost a month now, so where are they?

Present owners have illusions of their perceived value. Hate to bust your bubble but these cars are not worth what you claim they are.

No point to argue any further on this subject. As I stated their value is only worth what someone is willing to pay, not what the owner thinks it is worth.

Thor
01-20-2013, 05:58 PM
Not bursting my bubble, as I recall you sold yours; did you get your fair price or receive less than value considering your mods? Are you telling us that you are reasonable and the rest of us are not? That is quite an assumption, not everyone is in desperate need of sale...

I agree with your last statement.

It took me 18 months to locate mine with less than 2k miles and even then it had slight alterations.

I've got a garage queen for sale but only reason I didn't mention it earlier (even now I shouldn't have, lol) is I'm asking $17K annnnnnnnnnnd I'm in Ohio, lol. I'd go lower but I truly can not.

GL, but you'll never get close to 17k.

IMO its all about finding the serious sellers. If they are serious they will allow the market and the demand dictate what their car is worth. Unfortunately there's many out there that aren't serious. They ofcourse are entitled not to be. However, when the general public puts a value to something based off of asking prices and not final selling prices it can sometimes make things for OP a little more difficult. Just be patient and you'll without question find your car

Sorry but Mure is right you will not get $17,000 with that kind of mileage. eBay usually gives you a pretty good feel for the market.

Thats all well and good but car doesnt have to sell and the price isnt dictated by the market currently. There are underlying reasons for the price so peoples opinions of the current market means nothing. Not too mention, Ohio is always higher than anywhere else in good condition.

Two of the cars I showed you with way less mileage were in Ohio and sold for under $17k. If you don't need to sell your car that is good because you wont at that price. We're just trying to help you out because when people see someone asking a price like that you won't get any interest. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it but in reality your car will bring at most $14k in the summer. Not telling you your car is a piece of **** because it doesn't look like it is but that is what the market says its worth.

No, I understand that. I know the value of the vehicle and certainly don't expect $17k hence the OBO but $14k is not going to happen. Ever.
Also, I don't expect to gain anything from my mods but I think my car is MUCH more appealing than a stock Mach to the right buyer (which I have plenty of time to find). I've already discussed sales with a few people but I decided not to sell because I wasn't ready at the time.

Didn't get a chance to click the links as I'm on my phone and in a 3G area which takes FOREVER lol

Sorry for clogging the thread OP.

Since we are talking about value, mine is pristine with the exception of the rear bumper smudge. I saw a low mile mach recently that looked like it had been thru a war zone. Probably 40-50 chips in the hood, rust and a wrinkle in the roof and wheels curbed like a blind elderly AARP member drove it exclusively. And I didn't even look closely!

The cars are only worth what they sell for, or what the owner is willing to let it go for. Machs are underrated by the public, but for the right buyer, a perfect or close car will be worth more. It was to me.

bakerjd
01-21-2013, 04:53 PM
Agreed. Mileage doesn't dictate value IMO. My Mach is cleaner than 95% I've seen at national shows with 50k on the odometer. All it should mean is I actually drive the car and take care of it which should appeal to the potential buyer even more.

Bump for ya op. Plenty round me in your price range, including 2 steals, one zinc yellow one white.

$14k should net you roughly 40xxx mile car all day. Tough news for current owners, but buyers realise their amazing bang for the buck currently.
