How can you say that, you have NO idea what the price is yet. Dave @ JDs Performance is checking into it, and will give us the lowest possible price. So, hold tight until you see the final number. :SMASH:

Thought I read that it was $300.......guess I read it incorrectly...............still want the dynos:D I have become a little jaded over the years with extravegant claims from Co.'s claiming great things at high $$$ thats all. I hope it works as I do want a cold air kit.

I would go for a group buy on this. The $200 range sounds ok but I could live if it were cheaper. But at any rate let us know and I will wait.

For chits and giggles, I just called Summit to check their price. I spoke with a guy named Gabe ext 5959 and he quoted me $195.69 ea! With no group buy. He did not have any instock, in fact, he had to call K&N to get all the scoop. If I let him backorder the part it would be shipped when they receive their next order, about 2-3 weeks. Or they would dropship for an extra $10.00 making the part $205.69. These prices are retail.

I guess what I'm saying here is for me to be interested in a GP the price would have to be $175ish.

As everyone else has said..... price will determine if I'm in or not. I'd really like to see some TRUE hp gains off this thing. I'm not about to spend 200 bucks on something thats only gonna "clean up the engine compartment".

1) The price i think we be just below $200 ( from how things look now)

2) racernick posted dyno gains of somewhere near 15 hp and i think thats pretty good considering people spend $500-600 on catbacks that dont show that much improvement. I know this is only one peson but when its all you have to go on its what you got.

3) there are many photos of this setup just do a search in this forum and there are 2 or 3 threads showing pictures of this setup. it look very nice.

4) even if this setup doesnt show incredible amounts of power this is a mod that will help to pave the way for other ones.

then racernick's car must have had some pretty bad intake clogs in order for him to gain his 20 rwhp with the prototype k&n set up. Not saying everybody is going to get that kind of gain...but I dont see some people getting 20 and some getting 5. But then again I dont think any dyno sheets were posted showing his baseline and after k&n:confused: I did a search of his threads and he said he had dyno sheets with the gain.

I was just contacted by frank from martel bros. and they said with a minimum of 10 buyer the cost would be $199.21 with free shipping. I sent him another e-mail asking if we could lower the price if we had more than 10 buyers. i thought I would post this and see what the consensus on this price / company is? There are still some more people looking into other company's so nothign will be dont just yet.

I've been reading all the posts and I feel this may be a good value, for under $200.00.

Seems that you'd probably need to increase the exhaust flow at least a little to realize the full gain in volumetric efficiency from the induction improvement.

I went by Martel Bros. today and told Frank I wanted one. He said that the group buy hadn't materialized yet, but they had already ordered some from K&N. First order should be arriving in about 7-10 days.

Martel Bros. is about 5 min. from my house and I deal with them whenever I can. They have always treated me right.

Hey guys, just a quick question, I'm pretty sure you're all driving a standard trans, will the K&N air kit would do that much change on the automatic or it only works well w/ the standard? i heard that the automatic trans is already preset and wouldn't do that much good changing the air intake. any opinions? appreciate the info...thanks.
