hi all, the family needs to eventually sell my father's 04 Mach 1. it is grey, leather, a few scuffs unfortunately but nothing serious. i have to get it to the shop to iron out a battery drain problem, and to undo a few tweaks he made and set it to factory again. it has just over 30k mi, should be noted he sold the orig wheels to put on 16's and touring tires. what is your opinion of the best way to sell it? and for about how much should we be looking for. eBay listings of similar cars put it in the $15k range? any help would be appreciated, and thanks

Buy a set of 10.5 & 9" Mach wheels (replicas) and 315/275 tires. Wax it really well and allow someone to drive it like they stole it on the test drive!

that's good advice, but the funds may not be there for that. my Dad put Ford rims on, pretty standard in my opinion- wish i knew what they are called since they are very common. in any case it is still ridiculous fast- neck and neck with my 02 Formula Firebird

You're not going to get top dollar with those 16 inch wheels/tires...

When you mention "Ford rims", are you referring to 16 inch Mustang rims? Like off a V6 model, etc. ?

You should be able to find some Mach 1 take off wheels (original), they are out there.

Yeah if he's got time to let the car sit, sell the wheels, and just look for original rims on ebay. As a potential buyer I'd prefer 18's, but I also know I could sell the 17's first. Either way, no one's gonna turn down a car that fits their bill perfectly just cause of stock rims. You might wind up spending say 300 or so tops if you can find someone's original wheels with tires plus sell your own vs close to a grand on aftermarket wheels and tires. Other then that make sure all the liquids look nice, and sell them on the test drive. Usually how it happens anyway.

I didn't know 16's fit over the front brakes...

Bullitt wheels... do what 4valve said and find a set of stock rims... i hate any other rim unless theyre for racing.

i SEEM to remember Dad saying they were the one's that just fit, and obviously they do because the brakes work. Dad's racing days were long past, and he could never abide by the low-pro tires so he went with touring tires. i have Kumho touring tires on my 02 Formula as well

Just an FYI, in your actual for sale thread, you post a better pick of one of the front wheels. They are 17" tires. May or may not help ya out with the sale.
