schwanie,

Hey I'm another Mach from Ottawa...past Orleans. I have not seen too many Machs in our area. I have only seen one other on the road last summer and it was in the East end also. It was a DSG. I have a Azure Blue one. Mine was from Sterling Ford, is yours the one that was at Campbells?

Anyone here going to Nashville in April?

I will be leaving with the caravan from Ford Canada HQ from Oakville on the 14th @ 08:00. (GHMC group's caravan)
We are driving down to Covington Ky to meet up with the MVM caravan. (I know of Mach1'rs from this site that will be in Covington for the caravan to Nashville the next day)

Or the Pony Cruise II that is in Windsor for the May 2/4?
I have registered for that event as well and am planning on meeting the carvavan in Detroit that weekend.

Woohoo :HOPPY: spring seems to be soooo far away!

schwanie,

Well at least you have seen some Mach's. Maybe this summer they will all come out of hiding. Your a brave man to take it out at this time of the year. I'm not worried about me...I'm worried about the guy that can't drive in the winter properly and ends up nailing my car. Oh well, only a couple of more months to go.
I did have a 1990 LX 5.0/notchback that I used to drive all year round. I would put 4 snow tires on it and 200 Lbs of sand in the trunk. I never had a problem with it.
I have not had the Mach out to the track for an official 1/4 mile run. Don't know if I will. Did you have many encounters last year with yours on the street? If you know what I mean. I had a few and over all, the car handled itself quite well.

Oh Yeah and it handled all very well. fri & sat nights at the Bank and Alta vista intersection some nights a couple hundred rods all kinds will show up but never a 03 Mach 1 so when I did go my would draw a lot of attention. Have you had any mods. Mine is stock I like it that way I might try a chip this year just in case I run into any other machs its nice to have a little edge. Any mustang clubs or any meets that you know of.

Mach4me
02-12-2004, 11:51 AM
schwanie,

I have not done any mods either. I might just swap the air filter for a K & N and I will also look at the new K & N kit that is coming out. Besides that I will leave it alone. Don't want to ruin my warranty.
As far as clubs, I used to be a member of the NCMA (National Capital Mustang Association). They were a good group and they are still around.
Back in the 80's (now I'm dating myself) we used to do allot of drag/street racing on baseline at Vincent Massey. On any Fri/Sat night there would be a few hundred cars there. Used to cruise Carling quite alllot too, back in the old donut shop days.
I noticed in your profile that you are in the restaurant business, mind me asking which ones?

The NCMA website is http://www.ncma.cc/

Back in the Carling days from 1983 to 1990 I was in a Black Z-28 then from 1990 to 2000 a Lt. Titanium 5.0 Notchback. I saw the light when I kept on getting whooped by the 5.0's

I will have to check my various magazines to see if I have that one. I end up buying different ones any time I see an a Mach article.
I sure hope you didn't take the Mach out for a spin to Montreal today. We had some pretty wicked white outs this morning and icy conditions for a while in some areas.
We are off to the Sens Vs. Habs tonight.

LOL...well good thing nothing happened...you've dodged another winter bullet. Was there any black ice with the -26 temps for you? The game was good...a ton of Habs fans...not as bad as when the Leafs are in town but close. I'm getting mighty itchy about getting mine back on the road...just get to go out and look at it sitting under the cover in the garage with it's trickle charger glowing in the dark...sigh...

This is great. Some local Mach1s.

I am leaning towards the 1st weekend on April to bring my Mach1 out.
How about any-of-us that can, we get together that 1st weekend, April 3, 2004 (Saturday) we park our Mach1s and shoot the breeze. & a  or two...
Any thoughts of location?
I know the Hooters in Brampton has a good size parking lot. Been there a couple times. (downtown Hooters, no parking as far as I have seen)

I will run past y'all the upcoming events I know about for this season.

40th in Nashville
May 2/4 weekend Pony Drive II meeting in Windsor
GHMC 40th in Ford HQ in Oakville, July 24th
WOODWARD Ave, August 21, 2004.

Reply here or make a new topic for us Ontarian Mach1'rs to get together! (one of us can post a thread on the GTAMC board to have a bigger gathering!)

I'd love to do a BBQ (burgers 'n dogs) sometime this summer to. Parking is limited at my place. Warden is ok, if you have no issue of your Mustang being on the street. @ the end of Warden, so traffic is not busy.
A couple can fit where I park. I can put my MarkVIII and Sue's neon on Warden to make room for a Mach1 or two!
Thoughts?

A get together at the Hooter's in Brampton on April 3rd (weather permitting) sounds great.......been there a couple of times myself.......food not so great.......waitresses..............ssssschhh hhwiiiiing.

I was thinking that we should also try to arrange an outing to Wasaga Beach in the summer. There's nothing better than ripping up Airport Road in a Stang. .....there's loads of hills and curves to conquer.......and if we make it there early enough, we can line up our Mach's along the main strip and have a  at the local pub.

Yes, bought it at Montgomery Ford in Kincardine, they had 4 of them and this was the last one. We've been looking at it since last summer. List price on the sticker was $39070 and they weren't discounting them much, payed $32764, glad I waited.

Any mustang clubs or any meets that you know of.

I'm usually at B&A, suprised I've never seen you there, I also have an blue Mach 1, is your the once with the custom place "Our Mach1" ?

Going up to Ottawa this weekend .... where would be a good place for a 2003 Mach 1 to Go to meet other car lovers?

GotMach1,

That's my plate. Where have you seen me? I have only seen a DSG in the Ottawa area so far. Are you a friend of the guy that is a Volvo mechanic? Did you get your Mach from Campbells?

yup thats me, I know Shaun and is always freaking clean volvo :)
I've never actually seen you just heard about you.

Yup I got the first Mach 1 in Ottawa from Campbells!
I know of another blue one in Gatineau, I've seen a DSG in Ottawa.

Do you go out cruising much? I cruised a lot with Shaun last year and with a lot of the mustang boys in Ottawa, you should come out!

Yes his car is quite clean. I have met him a few times. Good guy, knows his stuff. I haven't been out cruising much at all. I used to all the time with old 1990 LX 5.0....but not as of yet with the MACH. I might try to get out to Orleans or one of the NCMA nights.

Cruising in 5th at 110km to 130km, she sounds stock. However, when you drop a gear or two and hammer it....... well let's just say it sounds like a NASCAR. Seriously, it has a very nice rumble. It's only as loud as your foot on the pedal.

I removed the original exhaust all in one piece. No cutting. The SLP kit fits perfect. Worth every penny. It even looks stock. :worship:

My wife is Canadian and she bought me the Mach, so does that count?

She just got a job in the states and doesn't have to do the bridge deal each morning. My in-laws all live in Windsor and we are over there at least once a week.

Are the sequential lights easy to install? How do they look?

You can see an movie of them on my site:

http://www.myriadminds.com/tsj/mach1/

:OFFTOPIC:

They were harder than I thought. The instructions weren't hard and the steps are easy, but I had trouble getting the plug to work in the tail-light socket. It would work, then I'd put it together and it wouldn't work, then I took it out and all the time my wife was yelling, "Dinner is ready" (She hates it when I screw with my cars.)

Then, when I get it all done and it is dark out, I ask my wife to tell me her thoughts and she said, "They blink too fast for me." Augh!

They don't blink too fast really. It would be the perfect speed if I had 5 lights in the rear, but I only have three so there isn't much you can do with three lights.

I'm happy with them. I wonder what peple behind me think? I used to have these on my old t-bird and I loved them. Now I have a bit of the retro look and a bit of the new muscle power. Best of both worlds.

Hi, looking at your video of the flashers I will have to say they do blink fast.
I have the sequentials in my Mach but after I installed the wiring harness, I also installed an updated flasher module. The flasher module was the hardest thing for me to change. It is tucked up right underneath the Mach460 head unit. This flasher slows down the signal to the lights and they do not blink as quickly as with a regular module. This is not my flashers but from 02mach1's aviator. I am roughly this speed. http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/avatar.php?userid=48&dateline=1072720439
Looking at your vid, it looked like your flasher video was played in fast forward.
Just passing along my lessons learnt. (not picking on you or anything like that. Just wondering about your flasher module)

Hey all! The Mississauga ranks swell by one.

We signed the deal last Saturday for the NOS Zinc Mach1 at Fines Ford in Bolton.

I'm trading in my '02 V6 after I strip out the mods. The Mach will be ready on Friday. :)

Waiting in the wings for the Mach are a K&N and Steeda/Borla cat-back, plus a few things from the other car.

Toronto area Mach'ers: make sure you check out the GTAMC (http://www.gtamc.com/new/upcomingevents.htm) upcoming events.

Regards...Don

Waiting for the snow to disappear in Kincardine, drove to London today, hope the roads smooth out after winter, didn't drive on a smooth road all the way, would have been bone jarring in the Mach.
What show in London?
