I have this same question as I'm looking for some welds for my slicks.. looking at the 17x 10.5s that afs sells.. they claim them to be 6.9 backspacing... so take away the .5 from the 10 and 6.5 backspacing should fine correct?

some people have claimed that 7 bs weld fits.. but not sure.. anyone that has dealt with this??

they will fit but you need to just get the gt brakes, and plates...seriously with a good pad and rotor you really wont feel a difference, idk why people are so fussy about going this route, also you will not need to remove your quad shock...u can turn it upside down and that makes a tad more clearance..ive heard though removing them is not that good of an idea esp if you race at the track, even with a good lower control arm i heard its still not the same as if you had them...just my .02:3amin:

also fyi...on my gt i had 15x 10..racestars wheels with a 26x 11.5 inch mickey thompson et street with the quad shock in the right position and it wasnt even close to rubbing..dont worry about the quad shock youll be fine
