Does anyone have any information on the Automatic equipped Mach 1's? I'm concerned of the shifter and the relationship between it and those on the 5-speeds. Does the interior upgrade include anything relating to the shifter, itself? I've yet to seen any automatics in pictures, and just curious to what my order will look like.:confused:

I have been wondering that myself. I hope there is something different about the auto shifter T-handle from the GT & V6's.

I wonder what the auto to manual ratio will be in the final build numbers, too! :cool:

You guys are worried about the automatic, I'm started to get concerned that the aluminum shift ball that was in the original configuration on the five speed may not make it to production! I've already seen some supposedly interior shots that show a standard GT style shifter in among the other 18g upgrades!

I've got a bullitt ball I had on my 01 5 speed if anyone is interested. I have a new white acrylic ball that's gonna go in the MACH so I'll let the satin aluminum go if anybody needs one down the road after delivery.

98, I was told the aluminum ball would be on production, they almost went with a t-handle, but was dropped because of somthing about shift markings. The pre-production cars have all kinds of mixed matched stuff, at least the ones I've seen.

INTERIOR UPGRADE PACKAGE (18G)

* Aluminum finish door lock posts
* Center finish panel - grey metallic paint
* Shifter bezel - grey metallic paint
* Aluminum finish shift boot trim ring
* Stainless steel foot rest assembly
* Stainless steel pedals
* GT leather shift knob (Mach 1 keeps aluminum shift knob)*
* 4-Way head restraint

The above is straight out of the 2003 Mustang Order Guide. Please note that it's optional on any V6, GT, or Mach 1. For $295, I'd say it's quite a bargain. Try buying these pieces aftermarket or mail-order for anywhere near $295.

Hope that helps!

Honestly, the only thing in the 18G package I like are the pedals. I assume without the 18G option you get the regular rubber pedals? If so I can get the pedals(Bullitt anyways) for about $70 which includes the dead pedal.

I really wish the t-handle made it to production! My first mod is going to be a new shifter (Pro 5.0 or Tri-ax) and a Hurst universal T-Handle :D I will most likely buy these before I even take delivery.

EDIT
Btw, anyone know of any other T-Handle's that are not chrome or polished?? Gets kinda hot here in S Fla ya know.

Years ago Hurst made a white solid plastic one w/Hurst and shift pattern engraved in black. Don't know if they still make or not.

I truely don't know. Don't even recall seeing any information about the auto setups.

Hmm, good question for the Board ops to ask when they have diner with Mr. Hoag.

On a related note, I just installed a Hurst brushed-aluminum T-handle shift knob on my stock T45 shifter last week. Hurst only offers threads up to M12x1.5 and the T45 uses M12x1.75 so I had to tap my own threads. Looks killer with the T-handle, though. Also installed hood pins a few weeks back, and routed the lanyards through the front grille. Lots of great compliments on them.

Just a couple of several little touches that helped me take 3rd place in my class at last weekend's Mustang show here (about 250 cars in attendance).

Congrats Five Oh B!

I thought I saw somewhere that they had the Hurst T-Handle to fit stock threads?? I just ordered one for the MACH1, will certainly know for sure then :)

I was thinking of putting either an 8 ball on it or the chrome skull with glowing red eyes like in the movie Armageddon.
