Greetings,

My father in law in interstested in this 08 GT convertible. Not really having much experience with current stang can anyone give me a number on what it should be worth. They have it listed for $27,333 and it seems steep to me for that mileage. He would be paying cash for it and not financing I believe.

So cash in hand offer them $20. With their asking price I doubt they will go that low however.

keep looking then.. Honestly you can find better deals, If cash , you should look on http://www.themustangsource.com/.. Lots of people who cared for there cares and dumped money into them, who want the 2011 Mustangs now.
Most but not all on forums love there cars, you buy one from a dealer , it could be just a Daily driver vs a Mustang which on forums is a guys praised prized possession. And even on a car from a forum you can stil get a carfax

If he is paying cash I'd search autotrader for a local car and get a hell of a deal. I wouldn't buy from a dealer. That price is outrageous. GT500 are going for 5k more than that.

I doubt anyone would let a mustang go for 20 bucks :P

I wouldn't buy it for 20 grand either to be honest. I'd look around on forums because most of the people take care of these cars like babies, if not then better. If he's going to go in that price range too try to talk him into a gt500 instead.

20 grand is too much for that IMO.

Autotrader.com
Cars.com

If you go to car shows people tend to put up their car for sale sometimes as well. That's your best bet. Plus the car wouldn't be completely stock like the one you posted up that was a lease. Then again I don't know if he wants a stock gt or something "different" ya know.

KBB trade in value for good condition is $21,100. Retail is normally a bit higher than that, around $23k. I would agree that 27K is too high for that car. Forums are a good place to find cars because those people never race their cars or anything :mean!:

I just traded in my 07 GT loaded with 43K miles. It was in excellent shape. Got 17.5K for it and the dealer is now asking 21.5k. BTW......I had a new 2011 5.0 on order but canceled it. Instead I bought a loaded up Lincoln MKZ. This is not a typical MKZ. It has the Sport Appearance Package with Sport Tuned Suspension and the interior has no wood trim. It rides on 18" Goodyears with Aluminum Sport Wheels. The minute I drove it, I was hooked.

I will get another Mustang in about 3 years which is about when I will be retiring. Till then the MKZ will be my business car.

I see you live in Horsham, Pa. I grew up there. My father still lives in the house he had built in 1955. I went to HHHS - Class of 1966. As kids, we would watch the Blue Angels perform from the rooftop of our home.

And York Road in Hatboro was once a cruising strip at night and weekends in the late 60s and early 70s. From the McDonalds to back behind the PNB bank. Lots of great memories until most of us either got drafted, join the Military or went to College.

My DAD still displays his car in the Jarrett MOPAR show. And for years in the Hatboro Moonlight Memories held in July. In 2003, I entered my MACH 1 and parked next to my DAD. That's when the MACH 1 first came out and it got a lot of attention. The next year they shows promoters would not allow newer cars in the show.

Thanks in advance. Yeah, they should come down from that price. It's a convertible, there's the issue.

I think my father in law is moving on to other ones...My dad lives near the area they don't want to go lower than $26,XXX...he went to look at it today. If they can get it good for them, but I hope they don't mind pushing snow off it this winter either because I am sure it will still be there at that price.

I'll enter it next year. I'm moving this Saturday coming up. Well today is the show. I have to swing by because I heard that a vendor sells those rotating display things. I can put a model Mach 1 on it and put it on my shaker hood

Looks clean and I'm sure if the guy is a little on the desperate side he could probably talk him down a little. 500-1000
